Sooner they get off Legacy and Microsoft store the better off. Just do Epic and Gog for all the extra games. Hell, I'll take Origin. At least I (and probably most) have a small-medium library on most of these places.
Heaven forbid they do a steam key for the first time. I'll keep dreaming.

What's the issue with Microsoft store? Other than being on different OS
I personally treat it like a game without a launcher, since I don't have to register anywhere and download a client and remember login info.

You do have to register, since you use your microsoft adress. The client have been downloaded/installed at the same time as windows too.
its like saying you don't see the problem with uplay since someone else installed it for you.
Personnally I removed windows store a long time ago as i didn't used it, so id have to create an adress and download it again. So yeah, the microsoft store "can" be a problem for some :p

I didn't even know you could remove the windows store. I think most people made a MS account at some point though, and most of us probably haven't bothered to uninstall the store. Personally the only times I've used it are when I want to play Forza Horizon 3, Sea of Thieves, or when I need to redownload the Nvidia config app. It's pretty rare that I'll use it.. but I'd rather have MS keys than keys for that legacy site which I know I'll never use in my lifetime

Person above me summed up one of my points.
I have plenty of game clients installed (would love to uninstall a couple actually) and I would bet the majority of people do NOT use Microsoft store.
You need only look at all the people giving away the game on this thread.

MS store might not be a regular "full game giveaway" on Prime gaming
Fallout is celebrating 25 years this month (first game in the series was released October 1997)
And since MS bought Bethesda it would make sense they give MS store version just like EA gives Origin versions and Ubi gives Uplay versions

I wouldn't be surprised if they do a run of MS / Bethesda games now that their EA deal is done. MS practically needs to give away their games because their store sucks rocks. I hate their DRM more than anything else - can't back it up. breaks without any user friendly errors to explain way, etc. . Its why I cancelled gamepass.

Subscribe to Prime Video. I get all my Prime Gaming benefits through that. I think all Amazon subscriptions can be bought individually, I can log in to Prime Gaming with my Prime Video credentials.

If you want to die on the hill where you feel Amazon doesn't deserve your .50 even though it will cause them to LOSE MONEY on the games you claim, Fallout 76 is free right now on steam. Binge it out for your heart's content for the next 7 days and don't pay anything at all. With that said, the MS store sucks ass right now so if I had an excuse not to claim the game (which I did claim), it would be for that reason.

TW Warhammer II isn't showing up in my Epic launcher after claiming it. All the other linked-to-account freebies have been claimed and show up normally. I cleared up the local folder web cache, restarted my PC, but still the game is showing as unowned. Any ideas?

I had the same issue with Football Manager 2022 recently. It wouldn't show up on the launcher at first. I kept restarting the launcher, no luck. Then I checked a few days later and it was in my library. Sometimes it's just really delayed, it'll show up eventually

That's the only option left because I chatted with support from both AmazonPrime and Epic, taking screenshots with the game 'claimed' on AmazonPrime and sending them to Epic support per their request, Epic's response is basically what you advised; ie the game will show up in your account after a while.

No it didn't take me that long,I think it was 3 days max. Honestly I didn't care too much because I didn't care for Football Manager enough to ever play it. I'd be more worried if TW W2 wasn't added to my account but I'm not sure what you could do about it
