If you didn't sell/trade any cards yet, you can easily count it by checking how many summer sale 2016 cards you gathered so far.

For me it's 7 full pages + 10, so 185 in total... I didn't even know I have so many :3.

Level 68 -> 90. I will get a few more once I finish matching my dupes and looting my ASF alts :3.

I wanted to get to level 50 to get a showcase... But... I have no badges to craft and little amounts of cards on my main and bot... So no cards for me! ;-;

If you want, you can use my alt/bot to complete sets, it accepts 1:1 trades for anything but Valve game cards.

I hope you don't mind, I sent a couple trade offers to complete my badge as well! :D

It is open for anyone. The only "catch" is that I manually accept the trade offers, so it can take a few hours before I get around to go home and see the offers. (Since sadly I don't know how to make a custom trade bot and ASF cannot be configured to not accept cards from certain games.) But apart from that, fully 1:1 trades and I don't care about 1-week trade escrows either.

That catch is perfectly fine! I'm sure there's many like myself who are appreciative!

I'm hoping to end this sale at level 200, I guess.

I craft one to see if Summer has been set up, but Summer Card Price is 10c over 12c (I need two cards only to craft another badge so.. I lost 2c)

None. I don't care about cards or badges anymore. I just sell them once I get them. Might not be the most efficient way of doing it, but I don't really care. I play the games to have fun, not to earn money or level or whatever.

I haven't crafted any. Mostly I want to sell off my crazy large collection of cards since I have little interest in them, but I haven't yet put any serious effort in to figuring out how much the collection is worth.

SIGH Effort.

0, I've already wasted too much money on cards previously and grown bored of crafting. I just self them now.

I wasn't even planning of gathering sets for the summer sale but then, around mid/end of May, I changed my mind. Only got about 23 full sets. :o/

None yet, but I have 25 ready to go, more when I get some duplicates swapped out. I just haven't gotten around to it yet. Now with the summer cards going, I hope there might be more trading. It seems Valve killed off some trading with the stupid 15 day waiting period for those that don't/can't use a mobile authenitcator.

None, there are some like the Melty Blood ones which interest me, but I don't really want to spend money on this type of stuff.

Zero~

I rather sell the cards and buy games to giveaway from the money :)

Only ones I carfted were to get a better booster card drop rate and friend space.

You forgot 0. Never crafted any badges, never going to. When cards drop, I just sell them immediately for whatever they go for.

249 cards, 4 foils..

Now the real question.. when to sell them? ;-)

Your window has already passed, so pray that Valve puts on some reward for crafting again, which can bump the price back. Otherwise the price will most likely stay in the 7-12 cent range again.

why do i need to craft badges ? level does not help me at all

Level lets you invite more friends. Not useful for everyone, but some people need it. Also, people often refuse to trade with low level users, especially ones below level 10.

Actually, a higher level also has a better drop-rate for booster packs.
Since I've reached level 20, I'm receiving booster pack drops every month.

i am level 100 but i don't get it every month :I

Depends on the games. I'm over 100 for quite some time now, and my average is about one pack per 6 weeks. Of course it gets a lot higher during the season sales, when people craft most of the badges, so I expect around 3-5 packs in the next month alone.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Interesting. I thought at level 100 it would've been much higher, since I've already received 4 or 5 packs since reaching level 20 during the December Winter Sale.

It pretty depends on how many games you're eligible to receive booster packs. For example i'm level 120+ now and have 1550+ games eligible to receive booster pack. Receving BP every 4 days.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

That's quite a huge drop rate, at least one per week.
I have 900+ games at level 20, so still getting there, slowly.

Permalink

Level 100 gives you +200% chance. Which sounds good, but in reality it means that instead of 1/(number of all eligible owners), you get a 3/(number of all eligible owners) to get the booster. And the divisor can be as high as a million. So high levels alone gives little nothing in increase of chances: a lot of eligible games does. Which I lack. ^_^

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Yeah, the comments above made me realise that amount of games also plays a large role as opposed to just Steam level.
While the numbers are still quite low, at 1/(eligible owners), it's potentially even lower if the rate of a booster pack is, say, once per day or so. I'm not sure what those numbers are, but I assume they're not just throwing booster packs around without having carefully considered the profits they'd be making.

Where is the 0 option? ^^ i don't care about badges anymore. my level is high enough for now (although i would prefer some more friends slots). so i rather sell my cards and buy games for that money. during the last 11 days i got 10€ just from the cards i idled in that time. so that's nearly 30€ per month. that's quite a few games i can buy off of cards. or a new AAA game every 2 months... :)

i crafted 39 badges for this sale. when do you think would be the best time to sell them? as long as they are still mystery cards or should i wait till they get summer cards? they are at 0.12 cents at the moment... and isn't it a little bit early for them to show up? i mean if 23.06.16 is the right date of the sale it would be 2 weeks and i think it was only one week the last sales.

Right now only people who craft badges have them. After the event starts, all few dozen million Steam users who are over level 8 can drop them. So unless there is some crazy reward attached to sale badges, this is the highest price they get.

I sell most of my cards I farm using ASF.
But every now and then I craft some badges.
Does crafting badges during the Summer event yield higher XP for my level? If so, then I'll wait until then to start crafting a few to reach level 30 maybe. Otherwise, I'm not too bothered. I've saved up quite a bit in my Steam Wallet selling cards, and waiting for the sale to go on a shopping spreeeeeeee!!!!!!!!

Each badge yields an event card, and there is an event badge that needs 10 cards. So, assuming you can trade your duplicates evenly, each badge in this period essentially carries a 10% XP bonus.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

So if I craft 10 badges to get the 10 cards needed to craft the Event Badge, then perhaps I should expect to only gain 1 level?
(if each badge carries 10%, then the 10 badges would be 1 level, and then the additional event badge will get another 10%).
That seems almost pointless then going through all that effort when it comes to cards. I'd rather just sell them all then to buy more games during the sale. ;)

If you craft 10 badges, you get 10×100 XP. And 10 event cards. You can use those to craft another badge for another 100 XP. Of course depending on your current level, it may be not even enough for a new level (for example, I need 1100 XP/level now), but it is an increase.

That's it simply. If you don't want levels, it is as pointless as badges in general. If you like to level up because why not then it is a free 10% boost. :)

I think per level I need between 250 and 300 to level up. So I'm looking at best 4 level-ups.
Do you know how much XP one gains when purchasing a game per $1, especially during the sale?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

You need 100 XP to level between 1-10, 200 between 11-20, 300 at 21-30, and so on. Goes to infinity, meaning at level 91-100, you need two full level 5 badges to gain a single level, and at level 490, you need ten of those to get 5000 XP for a single level.

The game collector badge uses a tiered formula: http://steamcommunity.com/groups/tradingcards/discussions/1/864971139095471283/
Price of a game is not calculated into it. You get the same XP boost for a 1-dollar and a 100-dollar game.

I'm about 90 shy of 1,000, so I'll get the 250 XP points there.
If all games increase by the same level of XP, then I should buy 90 super cheap games during the sale just to boost my level, although I'm so sure anymore whether I'd want to.
I know almost certainly if the games on my wishlist are 85% or more discount, I'm definitely buying.
Have to spend my funds gathered from selling cards wisely. :)
Thanks for your help with all the questions! Appreciate it.

the event cards sell i'm reluctant prolly just going to blast trash-sets and give it a rest

that reminds me to check on steamtradematcher :D your ArchiBot,
Menels, Sr. Mero have been most helpful for quickly completing ~ 90 sets or so
