...than actually playing games.

Anyone else feel this way?

I spend more time complaining about games, especially sequels, that take steps back instead of forward than actually playing games. I've also notice that this also affects me outside of gaming.

I spend more time learning and reading about it than chatting about it or playing games sometimes

Which makes sense because I'm trying to get into the industry

I think if you spend more time talking about something than experiencing it or learning about it then you're bound to say something ignorant and uninformed occasionally. But I could be wrong, it's just a thought :P

You should really do something about that.

Same here. I also noticed I'm moving away from big games like crysis towards indie games like shank.

I've been trying to play Skyrim all weekend, but I've alt-tabbed most of the time handling issues and responding to PMs. At least i'm 100 Enchanting and Smithy now.

I've been trying to play Recettear for weeks, but I've had to spend most of the time worrying about statements of purpose and requests for letters of recommendation for applications.

Edit: So, instead, I procrastinate by playing Terraria and Minesweeper.

Nope. I just got around to finishing up another playthru for ME2 (first playthru for Steam, tho) and have been playing Kingdoms of Amalur, which is amazing so far.

I used to spend more time reading about games than playing them because I'm interested in getting into game design and programming, and at the time, I didn't have a computer that could handle anything past 2005/2006 (if I was lucky), so I couldn't experience anything firsthand.

Now I have a new computer, and a bunch of things I wanted went on sale... so I spend a bit of time on a couple forums to see what's going on, read a few gaming and technology related articles, then spend the night gaming and seeing for myself how far the industry's come. :D Finally!
