hello hello
i really like sad music. i dont feel sad, but on the contrary, I enjoy beautiful music. for example radiohead or ólafur arnalds. (neo)classic and post-rock often cause pleasant feelings. i dont know much english. therefore, the voice and music are more important to me, not the words. so it doesnt even matter what language the song is in
I often see songs in the "sad" charts, but they dont sound like that (maybe in the lyrics). for example i like these:
https://youtu.be/LU7nE1e8WbE
https://youtu.be/ST2H8FWDvEA
https://youtu.be/dDOIjYOXMDA
https://youtu.be/Ne0KYyGEBFc

https://youtu.be/R2zXxQHBpd8
https://youtu.be/8eo1xMC7VbU
https://youtu.be/-B57lnGcMpY
https://youtu.be/Ni97d_k8iGI
well you understand me i think

so if you like any songs, please write. maybe there are good singers in your country?
thx for reading and have a nice day with a good mood!

I like Cure's style of music. cool songs
A Dawn to Fear is the epitome of sadness. I'm impressed. how much is sorrow concentrated in one song

it's hard for me to say something about myself and depression. I'm sure she's one step behind me. and one fall will make us merge in an embrace. but it is also beautiful. give yourself completely to melancholy, and then feel the taste of life again. you just need to enjoy the sadness and use it for deep thoughts and beautiful music. But I say this about myself, who loves sadness. and not about people who really suffer. there is nothing good about a real depression. but overcoming it allows you to be born again

Classic Polish song from 1982 - "51", performed by TSA - first Polish heavy metal band. It's song to friend who passed away.

Walking on the cemetery's alley
I'm looking for you, my friend
You passed away because you were weak
like a dry leaf
Today we can touch themselves
with our empty souls
Reveal our frauds
and our burnt consciences

I greatly like Lene Marlin songs like those from her album "Another Day" and some other her songs too. One of the best music albums and artists and yes those who know her style know i write in a correct topic.

дякую. я чув деякі хороші сумні українські пісні, але ця більш мелодійна (немного попса, не такая грустная, как те, что слышал)
но она напоминает некоторые хорошие русские группы по стилю

Had to dig really hard through the soundtracks I like to find something sad-sounding. I'm more of an action person, I'm afraid. Would these count as sad? ^_^'
(They're all from video game soundtracks.)

"Rosen Cradle" from Hitogata Happa. (Also has two alternative versions.)

"Path of Borealis" from Half-Life 2. (Ok, actually it's a remix of a similarly sad sounding track from the Half-Life 2 soundtrack... but that track is 45 seconds long so I presume you wouldn't be interested in it. XD )

"Inversion of Me" from Reflection of Mine? (Ok, I'm kinda running out of ideas now.)

Remorse and Dust from Hotline Miami 2, maybe? I'm not sure since it's more that they're sad within the game's context... ^_^'

That's all I've got for now. Sorry, I kinda struggle to remember sad sounding soundtracks...

That's okay if it's not your thing. ;)

It is not a cute song though. It's all there in the lyrics.
He's singing about the sadness of war and terrorism, while making love to the sound of the ocean on an island is something serene and far away.

They say the skies of Lebanon are burning.
Those mighty cedars bleeding in the heat.
They're showing pictures on the television.
Women and children dying in the street
And we're still at it in our own place.
Still trying to reach the future through the past.
Still trying to carve tomorrow from a tombstone...
But Hey! Don't listen to me!.
This wasn't meant to be no sad song.
We've heard too much of that before.
Right now I only want to be here with you.
Till the morning dew comes falling.
I want to take you to the island.
And trace your footprints in the sand.
And in the evening when the sun goes down
We'll make love to the sound of the ocean
They're raising banners over by the markets
Whitewashing slogans on the shipyard walls
Witchdoctors praying for a mighty showdown
No way our holy flag is gonna fall
Up here we sacrifice our children
To feed the worn-out dreams of yesterday
And teach them dying will lead us into glory...
Now I know us plain folks don't see all the story.
And I know this peace and love's just copping out.
And I guess these young boys dying in the ditches.
Is just what being free is all about.
And how this twisted wreckage down on main street.
Will bring us all together in the end.
And we'll go marching down the road to freedom....
Freedom

Ah, yes, I understand you. You like more instrumental stuff.

I like to sing ( I do amateur musical theatre in real life), so I feel the words as well as the music in a lot of my favourite songs. Having said that, I do enjoy instrumental stuff as well. If I'm working, I choose music with no words because words distract me if I like the songs, and I start singing along hahah. Hans Zimmer has some gorgeous music. Also some of the ones from Two Steps From Hell are amazing.

Current Joys - A Different Age is amazing
Floating Room - Driving is good too. sad and smooth. but I get tired of songs with girls over time, most often
Hotline Miami 2 OST - Main Menu is soothing
and Mogwai is a good group, I've heard some of their songs before. maybe aggressive? but this song is one of those that you want to go with the flow

Some of my favorite songs:

Fade Into You by Mazzy Star:

Blank Page by Smashing Pumpkins (which is actually my favorite sad song of all time, a very personal song for me):

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zTH9vEroNtM

This song by David Bowie (I think he did it for a vodka commercial):

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xm2ciX0_UP8

The melody was used by Nine Inch Nails in this song:

Not for everyone, but one of my favorite bands and a sad song for sure, especially the chorus:

The Connells '74-'75 - Sad, happy, neither or both? With some songs I think it depends on the association one makes/has. To me this one's sad, but beautiful.
