Replying to this so that it's near the top - the developer ran out of Steam keys as of mid-Sunday.
Has given out 500 in the last couple days, and has asked Steam for more!
Twitter has also locked his DMs for a while as he was sending out so many messages to reply to people!

If you don't want to wait for a key, the game can be played through direct download from the website.
It'll end up being F2P on Steam upon release, so whether you use the autoupdater through steam or the autoupdater in the standalone, doesn't matter for now.
