To get a Key, you must perform the following steps:

1) go to the Twitter link above
2) message Vercidium directly for a key
3) wait until Vercidium replies to step 2

Guys, you have to Direct Message them on twitter, not here.
And anyway, it's a Public Alpha Testing key of a free-to-play game.

Just check the steam page and there are free to play tag, is it going to be free to play?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Those are not developer-assigned tags. Never take tags too seriously.

It does only take a few seconds to check the developer's official stance, however:

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?
“We plan for the game to be free to play forever, with in-app purchases to unlock customisation options quicker.”

I didn't answer if it would be F2P. I answered the issue about his reliance on user-assigned tags. Developers don't assign tags in that section. That's user-end and one that anyone can have access to with their account.

Maybe not but they are accurate.

The people who post those tags up are Steam users. Valve also recently had an event where you could actually spam a game with a tag because you'd get a reward for simply posting a tag, even a unique one. So, you're gambling on accuracy.

I haven't looked into it, but most people have only been implying the game was F2P, but didn't cite the dev himself. So, if one's going by those tags, that is a sure way to dupe yourself in case they aren't accurate.

These keys appear to just be for the sake of building up a beta testing community.
Worth it if you're genuinely interested in trying the game out sooner rather than later, but probably not to any real benefit otherwise, given that free games are now permanent additions to the library to begin with.

Well, I refuse to believe that any human being would seriously respond to anything with "key plz"..
..So surely your hypothesis must be correct!

Yes, it's something, isn't it? O_o
I laughed. And then... I facepalmed.
It's as if seeing "free game" made people lose several brain cells.
They look just like zombies, but instead of wandering around saying braaaaaaiiiiins, they go gaaaaaaames.

For all those who ask for a key, a little reminder of Steamgifts.com's rules (guidelines):

Do not beg users or developers for keys or gifts, whether in comments, or chat.

You should really consider reading these rules. Breaking them can push the mods to ban you from Steamgifts.

You're fully permitted to ask when asking is solicited beforehand (as that wouldn't be "begging").
The following is what the individuals in question are fixating on:

comment below or send a message if you want one

They'e acting a bit absurdly, but they're not actually breaking any rules.

Similarly, the promotion itself isn't an issue:
First off, a violation of that sort wouldn't apply to the users, only the OP.
Second, the requirement of commenting is not, and has not ever been a violation of the rules.
[Frankly, that'd be an absurd limitation, even before you consider how it'd invalidate all the threads SG's community creates which require making comments to receive a game or group invite or whitelisting or similar.]
The other recent thread, which required wishlisting the game in question, did violate rules.
This thread does not require any "profitable actions".

Technically, Twitter can be a bit iffy, since Direct Messages are typically tied to Following the individual you want to permit to send you Direct Messages (and presumably that's how the keys will be sent out), but you can also choose to bypass that by changing your account settings (or asking the developer to follow you first), and so it shouldn't be an issue:

You can start a private conversation or create a group conversation with anyone who follows you.

Anyone you do not follow can send you a Direct Message if:
You have opted in to receive Direct Messages from anyone or;
You have previously sent that person a Direct Message.

Third party giveaways that require or reward users for performing profitable actions. For example, linking to a giveaway on another service that requires or incentivizes users to click a referral link, like a Facebook page, follow a Twitter account, join a Steam group, complete a survey, sign-up for a newsletter, or make a donation.

To be fair, there has been a massive influx of people wanting keys, I think this thread potentially to blame hehe. Previously just a small trickle of responses.
The man is swamped with messages right now!

Is this purely multiplayer?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

90%, yes.
There's a tutorial within a zone called "the ship", which you can access from the menus.
There's a shooting range with targets to test the weapons, and a parkour area to play around with building mechanics.

But yes, multiplayer content, no single player campaign or anything of that vein.
