probably not

Does it include the whole Sage from Baldurs Gate to Throne of Baal or is it just Baldurs Gate?

Running on an upgraded and improved version of the Infinity Engine, Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition™ includes the entire Baldur's Gate adventure, the Tales of the Sword Coast expansion pack, and never-before-seen content including a new adventure and three new party members: the Calishite monk Rasaad yn Bashir, Neera the wild mage, and Dorn Il-Khan, the evil blackguard.

It is just the original Baldur's Gate game and its expansion (plus new additions). Throne of Baal is the expansion to Baldur's Gate II, which has not yet been released as an enhanced edition.

Plus plenty of bugs, so you won't feel all that happy from buying it.

No, but it doesn't seem that appealing to me. It seems less enhanced than the modded non-enhanced edition.

It is actually very much less than the modded version of the game - in fact it introduces new bugs...

No, but you can enhance the old ones very well. Info Here

I'd buy it, but I read some discouraging things about enhanced edition. Besides I still have The Original Saga.

I guess they weren't getting enough sales while it was exclusively being sold from their site.

I would love to have this on Steam, but, honestly, it's kind of a rip off at the current price. It seems to basically be just a compilation of what modders had already done years ago, with a small amount of new content, and a $20 price tag slapped on top of it.

If this consisted of both Balder's Gate games for $20 then it could be worth a buy. Maybe I'll purchase the game if it ever goes on sale for $10 or less.

Compare the content in this game with some games released today at full ($60) price tag and $20 is a steal if anything. I loved the Baldur's Gate series and have fond memories of playing it. But to each his/her own I suppose.

Considering you can get BG1 + expansion, BG2 + expansion, Icewind Dale, Icewind Dale 2, Planescape: Torment, and Temple of Elemental Evil for the same price or less in a bundle, it's not really all that much of a steal.

$20 is too steep for a game I already own, dolled up with a little bit of lipstick and a squirt of inexpensive perfume.

May pick it up in a sale if it goes down to a fiver...

Well said. If they really did something special with it, I could see justifying the $20 price. But since they basically included some of the fan mods ... really? That was what all the fuss was about?

I was excited about it when they first announced it, but, wow.. It turned out to be a pretty big disappointment, at least for me. They really didn't do anything with it at all, besides fix some bugs that the community didn't manage to.

There is one + that I'll give them though, and that is for improving the multiplayer.

Baldur's Gate games have multiplayer?!

1 decade ago

Comment has been collapsed.

Yea, of course! I'm pretty sure the Icewind Dale games have multiplayer as well.

I've never gotten to play them multiplayer. I can't get my brother to play it with me. =( It'd be a heck of a lot of fun to play with someone else.

I tried ID multiplayer, you really need a people who think like same and can take the slow game, no gameplay while anyone is talking ;D

1 decade ago
Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

It's just that multiplayer in these games seems unnecessary and unnatural.

Actually, apparently the EE version was buggier than the standard with mods, so I remember reading in the forum that a bunch of people couldn't figure out what went wrong on the developer side.
