MMO:
Final Fantasy XIV - Also playing it myself right now, I recommend purchasing outside Steam though, cheaper.
Other:
BattleBlock Theater - Looking for a multiplayer puzzle-rush? Then it's this.
Borderlands 2 - Double the fun when in multiplayer. Do take in all DLC.
Don't Starve Together - It's fun and gets you going, for a while. Also do check Steam Workshop, nice mods there.
Dungeon of the Endless - Dungeon defense, short but fun runs.
Garry's Mod - Work your creativity!
Hero Siege - Fun, hack and slash with multiplayer. Start your local in multiplayer too, because local saves are local ONLY, seperated from multiplayer. You'll need at least Karp of Doom DLC to play multiplayer. But I recommend picking them all.
Left 4 Dead 2 - Thrilling zombie runs!!
Torchlight II - Sadly, I do not find TL2 as fun as TL1, but it's hell good when multiplayer. (Reason is maps are way bigger now.)

As the title states, me and a friend are looking for a good game to play together. We normally play MMOs and sometimes sandbox games, but we're either finishing, or getting bored of the ones we're currently playing.
Games we are playing right now and continuing to play :
Neverwinter
Terraria
Games we've played or gotten bored of :
Dungeons and Dragons Online
Rift
ArcheAge
Lord of the Rings Online
Everquest
We are mainly looking for MMOs (currently the only one that's really interested us is Elder Scrolls Online), however feel free to recommend sandbox games. We have a price range of about $50 for each of us, and if you do recommend a F2P, then can you tell me how P2W it is (ie, pay for loot, levels, content, or just pay for aesthetics)
Thanks in advance, and sorry no giveaways yet, saving my money for whatever game we do get.
