I believe it can be solved by removing:
Spore_EP1_Content_01.package
Spore_EP1_Content_02.package
Spore_EP1_Data.package
Spore_EP1_Locale_01.package
From Core Spore's data directory. (C:/Program Files (x86)/Electronic Arts/SPORE/Data)
Replace the forward slashes with backslashes.

I just finished downloading Spore, and went to play it.
Upon the launch, a box comes up saying: Alert - Configuration script failed [2000].
After that, another box comes up saying: Alert - Could not find a needed package. The data directory is missing or corrupt. [1004]
Does anyone know what's going on? I have verified it, restart steam, and deleted the clientregistry.blob file and nothing works.
I'd gladly be appreciated with any help.
