Good thing there are filters and such before posting content on the storefront.

and that means that 9 over 10 of the load of crappy shovelwares appearing on the steam store these months won't ever have cards even if they always write on the store page that it will implement cards soon and so on, obviously this thing won't ever have trading cards

More than the title which probably just comes from some kid trying to aggregate random porn-related keywords so that his "game" appears quickly in search results (and which is another proof of the phenomenal failure that is Valve's wordfilter), what really irritates me is that every day there are like 50 of those hentai "games" polluting the latest releases. It's apparently the latest scheme from money-grabbing "devs", get some random hentai pics off 4chan (and fuck the original artists, they don't get neither credit nor pay of course), add some random tiling puzzle script (probably the same for every single one of those "games"), and achievements of course, since they sell as much as porn (at least hentai pics achievements are less annoying than the previous get-your-own-named-achievement-in-my-asset-flip trend). Seriously it's time Valve actually hired people to get rid of the scamming devs once and for all, but obviously they only care about losing money through CS:GO and DOTA2 item scammers -_-

Yesterday I've found a game with no content that was describing itself as a game with no content where you can do absolutely nothing. There was 1 screenshot (all black) and thumbnail (all black). It appeared in my Exploration Queue as recommended for me game. It disappeared from Steam store soon though. I don't remember how it was named but I have it written down somewhere.

Valve has zero QA or even brief overviews of a game before it's added. Funnily enough, they spend more effort on trying to convince people of the lie that they check every game than they actually do checking the games. It's really just a matter of "Did they pay?" "Yes" "Put it on the store".

people getting triggered because the game title contains the word rape (which is rather crude to be fair) but not because the game is just another cheap asset flip.

if there's an actual reason to remove the game is the second one. Adult content is ok on steam.

and have you actually read the thread?

The outrage here is because the game supposedly contains rape (and that seems to include you)

as many people have pointed out in this thread then let's go and ban muder simulators too and anything depicting violence, sexual content or illegal acts.

Kinda funny how depriving a human being of his life(murder), of his liberty (kidnaping) of all his rights is fine but god forbid anything including sex.

hint: It's all fantasy. Not real. NADA. No actual human being was hurt in any way (well, maybe your sensibilities). Like I said I think the title it's rather crude but the hypocrisy in this thread reaches the heavens.

They removed the school shooting game as well, while by that logic that was only a FPS game, not even adult content.
Personally I think a name change would be (and is) needed, and enough. We have assetflip platformers by.the same dev, like 40 at this point. Shit games obviously are allowed.

I only notice these kinds of games because you post them here. I use the filters provided by Steam and none of those shitty games pop up on my storefront. In my opinion you should try to use them.

Blocking sexual content tag also block games like Witcher, etc. So, there should be a hentai and weeb tag. There's a whole bunch of these games anyway that it should warrant a proper tag.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Additionally, there are plenty of games inappropriately tagged.

For example, while not a primary-listed tag, I fail to see how CoD:MW3 is "Family Friendly".

Often I want to add something (or make a silly joke) but then after writing it I will delete it, as I'm afraid that just being seen could bring blacklists

Try not to worry about it. Some people will blacklist you whatever you do (even remaining silent will annoy somebody because you aren't participating in the forum), but there will always be plenty of giveaways still available to you no matter how many people blacklist you.

it's way harder to find someone who hasn't shown up anywhere

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

True, but you will be found when you win something. Some people like to conduct an investigation at that point and then blacklist you so you don't win anything else from them.
Anyway, I don't think it is worth worrying about. I have no idea how many blacklists I'm on and I don't care. I know I'm on some but I've only ever run into two or three giveaways that I couldn't enter as a result. I like to visualize being blacklisted as being refused entry to a bar patronized by people that I wouldn't get along with, which is right next door to hundreds of alternatives - I don't think very highly of the bouncer but it's no great loss so I don't get upset about it. I believe that blacklisting reflects more upon the list maker than the person on the list. It's an assertion of control that makes me think that these people have grown up feeling like they did not have much control or authority, and suffer from some psychological insecurities as a result. I personally don't use the blacklist function, even if someone is abusive - I report them for that. If I disagree with someone, I would prefer to argue my point rather than silently and passive-aggressively trying to punish them. We don't have to come to a consensus, though - I think that debate is a good way to examine your own philosophies and look at your beliefs from a new perspective. Sometimes you change your opinions and sometimes your resolve is strengthened, but I think examining your beliefs is more healthy than refusing to listen and thinking that dissenters deserve to be punished. Also, when you do voice your opinion, you'll encounter some people that agree with you or just appreciate the discussion and you can make friends and find a sense of community through that.

That is all true, and I myself don’t use the blacklist too
But still I find myself offen writing something and then pressing cancel instead of submitting
It cut a lot to even post this

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

I understand. Just trying to let you know that the real impact of being blacklisted is almost unnoticeable and there are a lot of people here that won't sit in silent judgement or tear you to shreds for voicing your opinion, so it's safer than it might seem. Anyway, it's nice to meet you, so thanks for biting the bullet and posting some messages.

Just being seen DOES bring blacklists.
But if you worry too much about them here it'll eat you up since simply existing will get them, so just go YOLO and make fun, commune and if someone (or 73 in my case) blacklist you... Oh well. Their loss.

you still check steam store page? i check humble store page if i looking for something new:-p their prices also much better and competitive than steam prices with the -10% sub and -5% refund (not letting it on 10% charity as they support nearly always only US/UK stuffs, i like to donate more to my local red cross)

Permalink

Now if only Humble begins doing regional pricing too. I mean, they let me pay same prices as US for SEA-locked games anyway. So yeah... Steam still better by a mile for now.

Permalink

also no regional pricing on steam because as east european with about 50-60% less avg. salaries need pay same prices as west eu so humble at least bit cheaper:-)

guess not better for those who in a lucky region where steam adjusted prices to local incomes.
