Minecraft is not realy about surviving (maybe when you play on hardcore). IMO best survival game is Don't Starve.

Aren't pretty much all games technically survival games, since the point is most often not to die?

Anyway. Best survival game is tetris. The enemies just never stop coming. Ever.

Currently at game-day 28 of Miasmata … Manage to lose a lot of time wandering lost in the woods until I finally got the hang of cartography!

(Learning through my mistakes -- I must have tumbled down a dozen blind cliffs by now!)

FTL...not really (a pure) survival though.

No mention of Fallout on Hardcore mode? True survival right there.
