I had this happen as well (Level 6 to Level 5), so I had the same response (make a train!). Although, my key excuse wasn't regaining Level 6 as much as it was having hit 1,000 games in my Steam library.

I was level 5 and now I'm only level 4!
To celebrate reaching level 4, I'm doing a tiny train here. It's all bundle games so that I can come back in a few days and complain that my CL level still isn't increasing, as is tradition.
Edit: OK, the train is ready to go! Prepare for disappointment!
Edit #2: For the record, it was Slowacki's Goat Simulator giveaway here that alerted me to the fact that I had lost my CL5 status, so really the entire train is thanks to him. Everyone go to Slowacki's thread and thank him for these games!
