Reading is rather important.

The, utterly useless, programm Mosaico - Tiling Window Manager has just been greenlit with use of following methode "Drop a comment and get a free steam key". That is the most stupid and lame way of getting on steam. On top of that the program is just useless as it's already possible in windows with the Win + arrows.

It gets even beter. The company behind this shovelware made a blog post with as title, "Why Steam Greenlight is a remarkably good failure". It's basically a rage post because they couldn't get Greenlit, untill they started using the Drop a comment and get a free steam key-methode

This program should be un-greenlit. It won't be long untill other programs/games will copy this methode. And thus will get even more crap on steam.

Greenlight failed, again.

The account is when you first try to register, even if you don't meet the 100$ requirement to use the site.

His blog ideas to make greenlight better are just stupid.. it would help him with a software product but it would destroy the use for any game to be greenlit.

Greenlight does have issues and this crap being greenlit proves it..

I reported the greenlight page, explaining why it was greenlit and how it sets a really bad precedent. I'd suggest everyone who takes issue with this methodology to do the same.

Not sure if it's even funny anymore that people post here and expect a key -_-

The answer is simply TL;DR because when many people see the word free key in the title there is no way they read the op.

The titles is between inverted commas so everyone who ever went to school should understand that it's a quote. So if you would think than it would make sense to read the thread before making a comment like a brainless zombie.

People have been buying Greenlight votes with free keys since not long after the service started. All those Greenlight games in various bundles? People get a copy of a game for a pittance, and then go vote for it on Greenlight so that they can get a free Steam key. When people were told that one game wouldn't be giving free Steam keys, commenters pitched a fit, saying that they wouldn't have bought the game if they'd known that they wouldn't get a free Steam key once Greenlit.

Some time ago, a bridge builder game was giving away free copies of the game to anyone who went to the game's Greenlight page.

Failure-riddled Armada Online (a game that was unable to find a publisher, has been stuck in alpha for around a decade, and failed I believe two Kickstarter attempts) offered two free beta keys for a "Yes" vote. (The beta was set to last around half a year. Plenty of time to get your fill of the game before it ever saw full release, which it likely never will.)
