Idle Master is a great software but, with the current software GUI, you can't directly choose what game to idle.
Here's how to do it:

  • For the lazy people, download this .bat file which will do all the work. You have to put the .bat file on the Steam Idle path!
    https://drive.google.com/file/d/0ByLT0Rx04MSDX2hxOWNPSHNxaFk/view?usp=sharing

  • For all the other people who want to waste some minutes:
    1) Go to the Steam Idle path directory
    2) Press Shift + Right-click
    3) Select "Open command prompt here"
    4) Write this: "steam-idle.exe APPID"
(To find your game's appid, go to the store page of your game and copy the number of the URL next to /app/).

actually, op is right, developer said it once.
but since this option is not available via user interface, I suppose that this is not idlemaster purpose.

Archi, you convinced me ASF was way better then I tried to start it and it said no bot something something, so I read the directions and started following them and changing values..... then I was like wait this is work. And I gave up. Thanks for an awesome program I just couldn't make it work. Good luck taking over the world.

If following very simple and straightforward guide is too hard for somebody, then I'm afraid using this site or steam should be too hard as well.

But whatever, everybody can use whatever he wants, I just laugh silently when I read threads like this one.

not that there is anything AT ALL wrong with this or archi's ASF, but for those that want to just launch 1game at a time manually but not have to download larger games you can download one of several smaller games (superfrog is my goto typically) that contains "steam_appid.txt" goto the game folder, change the appid# in that txt to whatever gameid you want.. launch game and minimize..

You can modify your registry so that "Open command prompt here" appears without holding shift :)

Or switch to Steam Achievement Manager... It lacks the ability to automatically change games after finish farming, but then you are idling SPECIFIC GAMES...

as said before, you can just press the skip button.

though it serves very little purpose & there are several alternatives, i would not call it retarded..

this measly little post may spark some innovation-like ideas for other people to add functions to something they might of been planning or working on..
