I have only been a member on SG for a few days, but I always try to say thank you to people. Not everyone is kind enough to take money out of their own pocket, and buy something for people they have never met in a simple act of generosity.

I read every thank you I got for the giveaways I made and appreciated every one.

A simple thanks may not seem worth bothering to type out for some, but for many of us who made a giveaway it means a lot!

Yeah, OP, it bugs me too. I mean, it's kinda implied for everyone who enters. It's not like this ever happens:

"AH FUCK WHY DID HE PUT THAT GAME UP FOR FREE GODDAMMIT I FUCKING HATE THAT GAME THE WHOLE WORLD HATES IT FUCK YOU BUT I'M STILL GOING TO ENTER AND BY THE WAY, FUCK YOU FOR POSTING IT JUST FUUCCCKKKK YYYOOOUUUU"

Agreed. That's why I thank in the comment only when I have something else to say; often a response to funny/witty comment of the gifter.

But I never forget to thank the person when I win of course.

Thanks are annoying. I even thought that when I made a giveaway (I've only made one so far.) Of course, I'm not going to be mad that someone is thanking me - it actually felt sort of stupidly nice. However, I don't understand the point of it. Thank me AFTER you win.

Well, when some one gifts something is normally to say thanks..
I bet most people does it for no real reason but whatever...

well it's elementar kindness to people that makes giveaway. sometimes I forgot to thank them, but mostly not.
plus it gives more chances to win that giveaway. yeah, everyone knows that.
