Something I'd really like to see added to this site is a way to see a list of all my previous comments. Ideally, it would be laid out like "messages", with the thread link above each comment and the ability to filter by category(discussions/trades/giveaways).
...That's it. Opinions?

Maybe. But just if we'd have ability to mark "useless" comments which we're making so they woudn't been stored / listed.

I'd like to keep track of conversations I'm having, but I don't want to have archive with every "Dzięki" "Thanks!" "Thanks for the train" "Thanks a bunch" I wrote under GAs I have entered so far.

Along those same lines, I'd like to have comments from the forums and comments on GAs separated more than an archive.

It may slow down the site?

Yeah, chances are that it will, so for that reason alone, a no from me.
While it's nice, rather unnecessary.

"Like"? Yes. "Want"? No.

cg already had to disable multiple features on SG to lighten the load time, including the giveaways count on the giveaway filtering tabs, website page count, and various other things. I don't think that adding a crapload of "history" would be a good idea...

However, there is an alternative for finding your old comments. You can always Google:

site:steamgifts.com "jbondguy007" "[thing you said]"

it doesn't seem necessary + it will probably slow down the site by a lot

Yes, it would be nice to find my comments, but at the same time, it's not worth slowing down the site. As things are now, I just bookmark any comment/thread I want to come back to :)

I would like to see it as well.
Actually for everyone, not only your own stuff.. A link on everyone's profile to their comments and own threads.

But I can totally understand if it's not gonna happen due to slowing down the page and unneccessary server requests / traffic.

I like the idea too. It'll help us to sort out what we said and were thinking.
I don't know how the load would affect the site though.

BUMP for Practicality

  • I do need to find my old comments from time to time.

  • If a user replies to my comment(s) it can be found, however old it is, through the 'Messages' section.

  • But for my comments that remain unanswered, it's a real chore to find them out even if it is just 2 days old.

  • So either implementing this option helps a lot OR like https://www.steamgifts.com/discussions/created create another https://www.steamgifts.com/discussions/created?searchbyuser=SGUserID option for finding discussions created by other users.
