I reckon because I responded swiftly and thus ended up on top of the queue. Be it as it may offering a Steam key and then not honoring your promise just isn't right.

I wouldn't have said anything if they'd said that we get a game - or mentoned, that it will be DRM free. But it is stated that they send out keys - and that makes me a bit angry.

Problem is that according to your contract with Valve: you can't generate infinite number of keys. Valve gives itself the right to block this feature.
On gala giveaways I saw many gibs for The Forgotten Land so they sent keys and later ... later they said they wouldn't give away more keys.
