now i was venting my frustration with trying to play Left 4 dead 2 i joined a game and after being a little confused and making a mistake i announced i was new and i may be bad thinking someone would help with the basics and for that i got kicked this is not the first time this has happened to me

this is what i posted in steam just to vent a bit nothing to over the top i do not think anyhow i thought i would get some opinions on my replies

i get kicked for being new well why the hell did i bother buying the game
good thing i bought it mostly as a time killer as most of the players seems to be ♥♥♥♥♥ because i announce i am new and get kicked from games because i am new

are you really that anal about losing or playing with someone that is new to online play

i am new to online not the freaking game but some of it is new due to the fact offline you can not play as the infected so those parts are new

but i guess it will stay like that as i play games for fun i do not kick people based on skill that is not what gaming is about

so ♥♥♥♥ it i will just play solo with mods

some people dont like you just stating what you are.

its fine to ask how to do something but telling everyone what you are kind of bothers them.

Thanks in advance for the warning. I will watch out for you in public games. Especially if you are going to shoot teammates because you can't control yourself.

I think you're making a mistake, but do as you wish. Enjoy it alone, then.

and you came to this conclusion that i shoot my own players? because i was kicked? i was kicked the moment i announced i was new so i am glad you will avoid me because i could see you kicking somene for looking at you with the wrong eye because you assume what you do not know

and it bothers you because i told people i was new and might make mistakes?

so you rather not have them say anything and assume they are just total idiots for not doing things the way you think they should or at least helping them out on the basic of playing

then i guess a lot people i talked to are right since this game was free it has gone to ♥♥♥♥

this is the part that boggles me the most or maybe i am just crazy

i thought by stating from the go that i was new would be better then asking questions as i would have thought at least someone would be kind to help this has happened also in Payday 2 i have told them i am new and might not know the maps and might screw up and bam kicked

how is someone suppose to learn how to play online if nobody wants to play with someone who is new? sorry for the wall of text i removed user names as i did not want to be accused of calling out i just wanted to know if i was the only one finding this issue of being new and getting kicked a lot

Do what I do, go in and burn the safe room at the start of the round by throwing all the incendiary grenades at start. If that doesn't work, burn the outside.

I don't know if it's just me, but I never had any bad experiences with the L4D2 community, I've never been kicked or even scolded in public games. Maybe because I use my common sense while playing, try to be a part of the teamwork instead of raging about random shit all the time? If I make a mistake I don't try to hide behind the fact that "I'm new" I just say "oops sorry" and carry on lol.

Its something like this that can pertty much turn a player away from the game that slowly dwindles the gaming community for said game.

Don't take it to hard, people take things too seriously sometimes, hopefully you find like minded players that help out next time L4D2 is pretty fun when playing with friends.

I've had a similar experience with L4D2. Made me dislike multiplayer games altogether. I don't find playing with people, who take the game way too seriously, fun.

While I understand the frustration you experience in being a new player in a community of veteran players, you are not considering your position. If you joined a basketball game hosted by competitive players, all of whom play the sport at college level or better, and then said, "Sorry, guys, I've never played basketball, before," they would tell you to start by learning the game. They would not set aside their competitive game and turn it into a tutorial for you.

That being the case, it would be more useful for you to ask how one goes about learning the game than to rant about your frustration. As a person who has taught many people how to play, I offer you what I hope will be useful information.

How to Get Started in Left 4 Dead/Left 4 Dead 2

1) Play through the campaign, alone or with friends, until you can complete the entire thing solo. This will teach you basic techniques and the maps involved.

2) Play Advanced campaign mode via co-op. This will get you used to working with other people. You will probably need to find friends for this as most players are way past this skill level. Once you are comfortable in this mode, you can try regular Versus mode.

3) Continue practicing by working your way up to Expert difficulty in Campaign mode. Once you are comfortable with Expert difficulty, you should be able to handle Realism Versus mode. By the time you've sunk 1000 hours into the game, you will no longer be a "beginner."

I've been kicked from NUMEROUS games of L4D2 for my terrible internet connection. :(

I "kind of" know how you feel. Some people have no patience or respect for others, that's life though, you have to deal with it IRL as well as in gaming.

Never admit that its your first time. It'll just make you squirrelly and make the other people apprehensive and sour the experience for everyone. Just go along with it and let the other people know that you're open to suggestions, if they want you to do it a little differently.

Why do these people open their games to randoms if theyre playing "seriously"? Seems counter productive...

They wouldn't have anyone to blame or vent their frustrations on. By allowing randoms they have a default scapegoat.

If you want to get some practice in with the vs play, there's a bunch of 10 on 10 servers out there under group servers, if you can find an empty one you can generally play against x number of bots (they just can't start events/hit buttons generally) and if there are people, watching what others do and even offering a bit of support can help you learn vs better too.

From experience, you're generally better off hosting the game yourself in payday 2, if something goes wrong all the whiners can do is quit. It's fairly rare that I have to kick someone during payday 2 and when I do it's due to either them not listening or not bothering to wait til I can give them a basis of what to load up before spawning into the game.

On both those notes, 'I'm a bit rusty on this level.' vs 'I've never played this level' sounds a lot better.

I was once playing casual CS:GO and got kicked for dying as the last player against 5. It seems the phrase "Clutch or kick" holds true :P

That's one of the reasons I only play online with people I know, unless it's only a deathmatch. But team or coop games don't work with random people, cause most of the players are jerks.
