Well i just saw that The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian, which i gave away twice, got bundled.
But why is that? It was just 90% back then ... or is that now the new 95%-line for a game to get bundled status?

Surely because of Russia, as the latest inclusions in the list

Because it is a 96-97% discount compared to the US prices.

Meanwhile, I'm still holding onto my The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian Steam gift in hope that it will one day have at least a little bit of value...

Heh, I've had a $7.50 foil drop recently, and some buyers were waiting for it to be $0.80. It actually worked, since some people apparently want to sell foils immediately, so they sell it at the highest asking price.

As for me, I gradually had to lower my prices (and I had an undercutting battle with other sellers) until I finally sold my foil for a little bit more than $2. Still better than $0.80. :P

yeah, impatient people kill the market... sad to see those rare cards/items go for so low (specially when they are mine :3 ).

I've got one foil at the moment that I'm selling for $10. Its never been sold before, and the picture makes me laugh, so I figured maybe someone else would feel the same way. Perhaps around Christmas.

Expensive foils take forever to sell tho, I consider them long-term investments :)

For the same reason Shadow Warrior was added to the bundle list. Retroactive CV reduction is BS.

In this case I can understand SW being on the bundle list, the huge discount happend before steam implemented regional trade locks.

However, it was wrong to add it to the bundlelist 9+ months after the fact, where several 90% off sales happened that got people to buy and gift the game.

Narnia should NOT be on the bundle list, because it was ONLY 90% off, AFTER steam implemented regional trade locks.
USA buys game @ 90% off, and can gift it to ROW.
Russian buys game @ 95% off, and can only gift it to other Russians (well that region).

I can understand if the 90% off sale was before the regional trade locks, where russian copies can be giving to ROW.

edit: The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian = May 15, 2015 bundle date. yea, happened after the regional trade locks. So the cheapest row copies were only 90% off. Russian exclusive pricing shouldn't affect wether a game gets added to the bundle list for Russian region locked games.

Borderline is -95%.

Why 120k russians users of this site would be able to get CV with -95% games, while people in USA and so on woudn't be able to do this? That'd be extremely "unfair" don't you think?

The problem is that Russians get the same points as American even if they're giving a region locked gift.

it was 90% off 3 months ago, that's $1.99.
since RU prices are usually lower (usually = always) the total price dropped to less than $1 => the price became 5% or less => it's considered as bundled in sg.

regional copies give the same CV as ROW so in order to avoid exploits, it's bundled for everyone.

So if the Russians are the new border that 95% mark is no longer a reliable valid bordermark. Because everything is cheaper in Russia. I'd rather see cg implement regional CV.

Same deal with steamgifts vs cdkeys.
Just cause a bundle gives a cdkey @ 95% off, but it was only ever 25% off in steamstore, actual steamgifts should get full value. (steamgifts could act as a middle man for this if need be.)

Exactly this! I am waiting for regional CV for quite some time now (which would include points etc.). It seems really unfair for someone getting the exact same CV boost while paying half the price while both bought it on a discount.
I really don't know if this can be done and if yes how much work it would require, but I don't really see anything bad in this.

each time they change something, someone gets a bad deal.

if SG implements regional-cv, anyone in SA that's not from mexico or brazil will be negatively affected, since we pay US prices but our gifts are tagged as South-America with region-lock. -_-
i think there's RU/CIS countries that also pay US prices while having restricted gifts.

no fun to pay more and get less cv... it's already lame to pay US prices and not being able to gift games to anyone in the world. -_-

The problem I see with regional CV is people doing privates without listing it a regional giveaway, just to get full value.

well, now everybody is getting full value. I don't quite see the difference tbh.

I'm meaning if titles that would get bundled now were instead done under region based CV, they would instead cheat the system to get full value.

But this would apply most probably only to a handfull of cheaters, whereas the majority would receive their deserved CV. Especially all the people who now have to suffer from "unjustifed" bundled games like the one discussed, or Shadow Warrior for example.

I think people would try to cheat it, but then SG could implement something that said any giveaways for groups or private of the games affected in that manner will receive bundle CV only.

+1 Kind of. I'd settle for a regional bundle list.

I can see nearer the end of any CV method than implementing regional CV or any other method that only makes things more complicated...

It's a removed game from steam and now also bundled? well no one is giving away that game then.
