I'm researching Steam reviews for thesis. Very often i make purchase decision based on reviews what i have read. Couple times reviews got me good, they were fake positive reviews ( at the end just wasted money on bad product).
Mine point is in that how much really people trust this reviews.

I trust negative reviews much more. If I am interested in a game, I mainly focus on the negative reviews to see what issues the game has. After that, if I am still interested, but need more info, I watch video reviews or gameplay videos.

Should have just said so. I dunno, I already filled the survey so could be unnecessary to discuss the same topic again here, but yeah, I know cases of developers removed from Steam for faking reviews, even some "not so small". It's stupid, but then again people do stupid stuff all the time.

Cool poll! I write reviews on occasion. It can be a lot of work so I don't tend to leave a review for every title and the ones I choose to do so for can be a bit random. Most of the reviews I write are for my group of friends to reference if they stumble across, although, the reviews are public regardless. I have a mix of serious and "funny" but an overall theme I try to incorporate is my personal opinion and my experience. I do wish steam offered more than the 'positive-negative' system as I often find myself stuck somewhere in the middle.

you can write approx, i manually divide them, thats gives more flexibility and is more accurate.
The anomaly can appear like in 49 - 51 years range.
other wise it can be 40 - 60 years range.
That's huge difference.
