I'd say also Banner Saga, as a franchise (based on the fact that I've never seen a pretty good deal for them), at least imo.
Then Celeste, Hollow Knight and Braid.
I was used to huge price drops for indie games and those weren't the case.
This sound a little weird, but I'd say also The Stan Parable.
ps. I couldn't help myself grabbing the key. Thanks ^^

But we could say the price of the game is like a permanent discounted price.
More seriously hmm...
Ubisoft and Square Enix titles drop value quite fast. Usually, Ubi titles lose 50% 1 year, 75% 2 years.
But surprisingly the last AC is already 33%.
And the last Tomb Raider was a flop, so... 50% already one month after release. Final Fantasy titles get a regular 50% on sale.
Nis America games drop value quite fast too.
Koei games tend to keep value for a long time, and get 50-60% after 1-2 years. But i don't think they lose much more.

The Baldurs Gate Titles.
They are all ~20 bucks and go max 50% on sales (afaik).

I'd say the first Dishonored - at least for me, and so I got it now at 75% discount. It's a great game, one of the few I really liked in the recent years.

Product already owned :(
Edit: Oh, actually I'm too late, what was the game? :D

A trick you can use when Steam doesn't tell you what a key was.

Final Fantasy IX is really the odd one out of the series, while the others' price is relatively low, for whatever reason this is the one with the highest price tag from the old ones
( 7 costs 7.8€, 8 costs 6.5€, 9 costs 12.6€, about 1.5€ shy of the sum of 7&8. You can get FINAL FANTASY X/X-2 HD Remaster from 2016 for the same price!)

Call of Duty.
For some ungodly reason. But they never go below a relatively hefty price.
Then again, Blizzard games and Nintendo games also have a particularly peculiar definition of "sale discount" that apparently stops at 50% on the absolute best of days, when all planets align with a blue moon over a snowstorm in the Gobi Desert.

any game that have more games with better gameplay etc... should go until -90% and eventually for free when buy the newest game.
example:
1- total war games
2- call of duty games
3- final fantasy games
4- tomb raider games
the older the game = the cheaper should be and eventually for free when you buy the newest game of the franchise.
example---> you buy far cry 6 and get for free far cry 1 and 2!!!!
example---> you buy final fantasy 13 trilogy and get for free final fantasy 1 to 6!!!!
example---> you buy final fantasy XV and get for free final fantasy 7 and 8!!!!
example---> similar things with any other franchise of games......

The one in danger is Final Fantasy VII being possibly taken out of steam because Final Fantasy VII remake coming. Just look at Last Remnant for example

true one, which sucks 'cos the current version works extremely well, completed it on a 2000 win xp PC years ago and it played perfectly including a crappy 10€ Trust usb joystick that doesn't work with the 90% of the other games.... let's see what they're gonna do with the remake..

Shovel Knight only went up in value over the years.

Factorio. It's been out for quite some time and never been on sale. According to the devs they have no plans for participating in sales at this time. Good for them.

Kentucky Route Zero never goes on sale for more than 50% off, with the exception of the one time it was bundled.

I've had some Korean VNs on my wishlist for years now that just never go on sale.
As for, uh, artistic value, games like Okami and Psychonauts feel like they haven't aged a day.

What discount games get down to isn't about whether it has "held onto it's value", it's about whether the developer wants to put it on sale. Some developers are staunchly against deep sales and will never offer any large discounts, some won't ever offer ANY discounts. Factorio and Rimworld are examples of developers that have refused discounts from what I remember - the exception being things like the 10% discount for monthly subscribers on Humble.

https://store.steampowered.com/app/227380/Dragons_Lair/ never seen anything more than 50% for a very old game.

Technically 9th Dawn 2 that never went under 50% in two years.Though good reviews and dirt cheap to begin with, so not a big issue.

The Sims 3 and its DLCs. The base prices don't lower over time so even with -75% discount they can still be quite expensive.

With a lot of games, I watch for a sale, and then when I see it I realize that it's just a sign that the price is going to plummet even more. That is part of why anything less than 75% off doesn't really tempt.
However, there are exceptions. Seems to me that Final Fantasy titles, Tomb Raider titles, Far Cry titles, and Total War titles hold onto their value better over time. Often it seems like getting 50% off is maybe the best deal you'll get for even over two years.
Any other titles that seem to hold their value?
Here's a very very very old key for a VERY VERY VERY good game that did not hold its value at all. I?LEL-GT!Q!-BFGGL - ? = How many senses are there? (Not the real or scientific or technical answer, just what we teach grade school children.) ! = How many elements are there? (Think classic games/literature featuring nature mages.) - The key is really old and just may not work. Or it may. I hope it does. The game is very nice.
