The dev on steam forums said they wanted to give keys to Humble buyers, but Valve denied the request for keys. Devs are working with Humble to see if they can use their influence with Valve to get it done.

It turns out that many games which were offered as keys/gift links in Humble Monthlies are no longer visible in the key/purchase pages according to SG users in other threads and comments to my reddit post:
Macdows 95
Ethereal
Roombo: First Blood
A Short Hike (mentioned on reddit)
Fortune-499 (mentioned on reddit)
Barter.vg verifies these all as "out of keys", and does not list other games on your list as "out of keys".
All their DRM-free downloads are still available. I also haven't seen any reports of keys actually being revoked, or games being removed from Steam libraries.
Support has responded recently to multiple users that:
we thought it would be a nice bonus for subscribers to also get one of these Steam keys, which we quickly implemented.
We unfortunately underestimated the popularity of these keys and quickly ran out. We have been working for the past weeks to try and secure more keys for those who were unable to get one, but we have been unable to do so. At this point in time, we are sorry to say that we will not be able to provide a Steam key for these games.

Confirmed that I just got that same email after asking about Macdows 95 and Ethereal.
I checked my monthly's. Missing 4. I don't have the monthly that Roombo was in but I assume its the same.
I gave away Fortune-999 and its also missing from my list. Not showing that I revealed it or that it ever existed. The others were not revealed so I guess they are gone forever.
edit. I guess its time to check the entire list of humble originals and either give them away while I can or use them.
