I think in my country it's a thing with downloading games...afaik it's legal to download them but illegal to share them..but I don't pirate because the downloads are slow with rapidshare etc (before I pay them I buy the game) and torrent is uploading...yeah, I know you can change it so it doesn't still...nope, I won't because there would be no more "normal" games and ONLY (mostly) f2p games.

It's illegal but... I'm a PROUD pirate.
Muahahah...
Srsly i won't buy fuckin game before i test it.
Oh and yes... to buy some games in Poland you have to pay twice... Skyrim normally costs in poland around 25$ but it's not available in polish shops so i have to pay 50$ on steam.

I am proud to be a pirate.
I do it illegally and therefore I would obviously do it if it was legal.
I do however pay for games that I enjoy (when I can afford them).
I have pirated a ton of AAA titles which are pure garbage and recycled crap such as COD (which doesn't deserve anyone's money) and can be happy in the fact that I didn't fund such bullshit game development practices.

proud to be a pirate?
sounds aweful tbh, i dont have much money because im a student and need to pay rent etc but i still never pirate games. i wait for them to get cheaper and to see if they could live up to what was promised, if they do ill buy them.

I too am a student with a family to support and purchase games I believe deserve to be paid for.
Maybe that first line of my initial post was too strong.
I have a strong belief in getting what you pay for and paying full retail prices for the same game as last year with a few mods is not a practice I feel should be encouraged.
I pirated borderlands and then ended up buying it about 4 times. (as gifts for friends etc)
I pirated fallout 3 on the pc (despite owning it on the xbox) and still bought it on pc years after completing it just because I enjoyed the game.

I probably would, but I like buying the game after "trying it out". Screw demos.

If it was legal..wouldn't it not be pirating anymore..? -___-

Very compelling way to remove context.
I have another one for you: WOULD YOU PAY FOR SEX WHEN YOU CAN GET IT FOR FREE?
FYI: I Raped your grandmother.

Pirating may be illegal, but it's also illegal to go past the speed limit (yet I'm sure you do it if you drive) or getting in bars with fake IDs (or even just getting drunk as a 20 year old in the US). People (including you) break laws all the time, so any problems with piracy purely due to legal reasons is a bit hypocritical in my opinion.
Now as for moral reasons... I'll just ask you this - if there was a pricing error during the Steam holiday sale and say you could get Far Cry 3 for $0.99, or even free. Would you jump on that?

If i get any game for free from the internet, it's for personal use (or with friends) and not for selling.
And that's legal.

No....I always buy games that I like...I never buy for the sake of buying...so if I get a lot of awesome experience from a game I feel like giving the dev something to make another awesome games(take Paradox...I would never pirate their games...because are awesome and the prices are good....but EA...I have all the reasons in the world to pirate the shit out of them..)

I pirate games, but it's only under certain conditions, 1) If there is a game that I want but can't afford, when I can afford it I will buy it because the legit version is always better, 2) If I feel like I don't want to support the company because I feel they are arseholes and/or such and(Like day1 dlc's and moneygrubbing shit like it) 3) if there is no Demo of the game and I don't know if it will work on my computer so I download it to try it out, I've saved a ton of money by doing that because I don't have a good computer so most new games doesn't work on it, this saves me money and I need every cent I can get my hands on.

I probably would. I like knowing what a game will be like before I spend money on it, I like the rapid delivery system, the lack of drm, and so much more
though honestly, my only reason really for ever pirating is I already bought the game and just want to play it my way and for some reason can't do that with the copy I already have, or drm has made it impossible to play for some reason.
Like securom, 5 installs in some cases then you're screwed and god forbid you ever upgrade your graphics card then it's new hardware and goes into lockdown, or you get a laptop and want to put the game on both systems
so I'd say there are some valid reasons out there why I might like an alternative copy

Title says it all. I know most of you dont pirate games, And I was just wondering... Would you pirate if it was legal to pirate games?
Alternatively, Would you pirate if games had no DRM at all? (For example, If you pirate CoD you gotta play on cracked servers, But if theres no DRM a pirate copy is EXACTLY the same as the real thing)
