< Stage 9 - Home - Stage 10 >
Time for a well earned rest and to take stock (with a pet rock). While there have been some mountain stages most of the favorites should still be in contention.
Obviously no rider is going to win today so we are doing something else. Predict which rider will have the Lanterne Rouge (Red Lantern) at the start of the second rest day.
Red Lantern 'Winner': Jérôme Cousin
Charente-Maritime
France’s second most popular department as a tourist destination, four towns and regions of art and history (Rochefort, Royan, Saintes, Île de Ré), five UNESCO World Heritage sites (Church of Saint-Pierre d’Aulnay, Pons pilgrims’ hospital, Church of Saint Eutrope de Saintes, Royal Abbey of Saint Jean d’Angély, citadel of Saint Martin de Ré), five villages listed among France’s Most Beautiful Villages, three villages labelled “Small Communities of Character”.
