Description

Auf dem Ecke Kottbusser Str. & Maybachuler

You can head north from here to Kottbusser Tor or south to Schönleinstr.

Kottbusser Brücke isn't really that interesting aside from the 20-30 bicycles chained to it.

Do you need a bike? Because these nice men will sell you bikes in various states if you want one... and for cheap... Wait... Are these stolen bicycles? Most likely... But there they are all year round, selling bicycles. The only thing I can really recommend, is to have a GOOD lock. I spent nearly as much on my lock as I did on my bicycle.

But that's not why we are really here... just on the south side of Landwehr Canal, to the east is the Turkish Market every Tuesday and Friday from 11:00 - 18:30. There are so many different cheeses, vegetables, fish, nuts, meats, fruits, clothing, fabric, undergarments, ice cream, sweets, and more. Anything you can imagine, they pretty much have it. Along with random tourist stuff, or knives, and kitchen products, and hats, and .... the list goes on and on.

There is only so much I can describe, but I came here very often to go shopping for things... and to try different things. Oh, and don't forget, if you go near closing time, they are likely to offer you Amazing deals... and they really are. I'd show up on a Friday around 6pm and just wait for the fruit stand to start closing, and then I'd wade in and ask about limes. Why? Mixed Drinks. We needed limes. I'd get a box of them for a Euro.

But aside from that, I could just go on and on, or I could let this video do the talking for me.

I've never been to a turkish market in germany (only turkish food stores) but it reminds me a lot about the markets in turkey yea :D Omg when I think about all the delicious foods and drinks.. ^____^

You totally should. I went to a hungarian / serbian / turkish market last summer and discovered tons of new tastes & foods. Has improved my summer cooking forever. :)

Yeah, expensive lock is very important. Especially if you have customized or modified your bicycle at all :D

I love a good market, you never know what you'll find.

I've got a cheap lock for my bike at the moment, but if I used it outside my local area I'd definitely get a better one.
