Description

There are random buildings and gates in the oddest places at the base of the stairs.

The street, if one can call it that, extends far to the east. It's more like a corridor of buildings covered in graffiti. Better watch your step or else if you're wearing nice shoes, you might step in a puddle or a pothole. Random alleys that lead to some of the better known clubs in the area. They cater to all different types of club goers.. The good thing about these clubs is that most of them are extremely international friendly. Some of the better known ones are Suicide Circus (Dancing), Astra (Kulturhaus) (Punk & Live Bands), Cassiopeia (Electronica & Hip Hop), Badehaus and more...

There used to be a Bar here called CK-99, that had hookahs if you wanted to sit outside, and if you went inside, they had a huge area you could rent consoles and huge flatscreens to play games with your friends. However, as you can imagine, most gamers have their own setups or bring their computers to make their own LAN parties with no cover charge.

If you are more of the PC Master Race type, they had semi closed rooms that sported 6-8 Computers setup in a circle for LAN Gaming with your drunken buddies.

We spent many nights sitting outside enjoying the nightlife at Level 99 with our smuggled drinks as poor students sharing a hookah. When we weren't doing that, our typical favorite was Cassiopeia as it had so many different settings. You could listen to different Electronica variants in different inside rooms, or go outside to the open air part of the club. Many random conversations were had here with people from all over the world. Sadly, but predictably, CK-99 closed down due to low patronage.

Of course there are other interesting places here, like the Sandwich/Beer Double-Decker Bus Truck, the various graffiti, the art gallery, etc... but I can't go on and on forever.

Random Experience:

So the lot of us that first summer went out to Cassiopeia to have a great night out. And we did, just not there. Before we even made it into the club, the French girl we were with was thrown out of line for being too drunk already. Talk about some serious pre-gaming on her part. It was quite amusing that we had to leave and go do something else, which we did, but still funny nonetheless. We'd never heard of, and I still haven't heard of, anyone being denied entry to Cassiopeia. Except one random super drunk French girl who couldn't keep her mouth shut.

I really enjoyed using my hookah when I had one, with so many good flavored mixes. Very relaxing, and would just go and go on the coals. I stopped smoking about 3 years ago. Brings back some memories, though!

You wrote Astra (Punk & Live bands), that almost sounds like there's only punk live bands but that's not the case at all. I know many many times when I went to concerts in my area and they had tour posters hanging, "my bands" where playing at Astra as well and even though sometimes I listen to some punk, most of the time I don't :3

Did you check out any techno drug clubs? Maybe I will find out once I took all trains, but I'm not there yet... ^^
