An evening bunch sprint on the Champs-Élysées; it's tradition by now, unfortunately. Dylan Groenewegen won his first Tour victory here last year; could he go for the double?
Winner: Alexander Kristoff
The Château de Saint-Germain-en-Laye was a royal palace, today it houses the National Museum of Archaeology.
Several historical events took place in the castle: King Francis I’s wedding in 1514, the birth of Henri III in 1519, a duel known as Coup de Jarnac in 1547, the proclamation of the 1563 edict by King Charles IX, fixing the beginning of the year on January 1 all over the kingdom, signature in 1570 of the St Germain peace treaty aiming at ending the wars of religion, the birth of the future Louix XIV in 1638. St Germain’s expansion was considerable with countless royal feasts, weddings, concerts by Lulli or plays by Moliere. The old castle was then abandoned by the court in favour of Versailles and became the home of exiled King of England James II until his death in 1701.

Chris Froome!
I didn't even know there was a castle :p I just went once at the "Fête des loges" in the forest of Saint-Germain-en-Laye which is one of the oldest french carnival and it's huge (8 hectares)

Huh, this last leg runs just a couple of minutes from where I currently live, maybe it's worth to go out and take a gander on Sunday. I don't follow cycling that much, but I do respect and intend to follow the important traditions, e.g. running up and grabbing Chris Froome by the jersey as he passes.
