Depends on the size of the house I'd say.

Lived with six cats for a while, and as much as I love cats, there wasn't a single day where I didn't have to clean something up because of them. :'D

depends on the size of the house, but typically 3+ may be a cause of stress, which results in health issues such as idiopathic cystitis. A veterinarian professor I know once went to a house of an old lady that wanted to get a guiness record for most cats adopted and had hundreds in her home. He had to vaccinate them. It was horrid. You can imagine that there were dead ones that weren't found beforehand.
