It depends on the game really. Some games I found electronic music to be better, rock / metal for something else. Usually though my player is on shuffle and I let it decide what I listen to.

In-game music is intended to the specific game I'm playing so why bother? But if it is some repetitive online shooter / racer / sports game with no storyline... hell yeah baby, let's ROCK this place up!
