Description

I

Hey, a new Dharker thing. I've said it all before, no point saying it again. Cards, boobies, terrible, you know how it works. I'd ask a question, but I can't think of anything. So let's tell a story instead! :)

I recently read about the "steamground" site. Mountains of cheap Steam games for all your +1 needs, straight from the "developers" without any grey market / stolen keys / whatever.

Except they don't like paypal. So I tried with a credit card, only to hit the wall entitled Verified by Visa. It's the right password, so why doesn't it work? I dunno. It seems to be doing something every ten seconds, but I'm not getting any keys so I make a new tab and try again. Still no luck. After half an hour or so I try yet again, and get the same big box of nothing. Umm, what gives? Did they take my money? Do they even want my money? Maybe you have to be in Russia to buy anything?

Quite honestly, I have run flat up against a wall.
Or, a gate, I should say. The thing just won't budge.
No matter how long I wait. And, oh, have I waited!

So what's the best part of the story? A few hours later I check back. Somehow all the steamground purchases went through. :( So now I have three identical piles of cheap garbage. Which means....

Initiate phase one. Power up the crap cannon. :)

Will a precious bot redeem this crappy key before you do, human? Let's find out!

Good luck! :)

Yeah, it looks like dailyindiegame has mostly the same junk at a (slightly) higher price, but since they take paypal I can actually buy from them. :)

Guess if you have rubles you can be swimming in cheap games... Oh well. :)

Good luck! :)

Oh, hey, where'd that (Support) thing come from? Is that new? Congratulations / condolences! :)

Looks like the usual Dharker thing, heaps of bad art and boobies... :) I haven't tried playing it, but I was supposed to try The Banner Saga today. Which I didn't, of course. :(

Good luck! :)

In the words of the esteemed Student123, thanks for science.

Somehow I expected science to be more useful, think this is just a bunch of boobie drawings... You can get those for free all over the place! :) Oh well...

Good luck! :)

At the risk of repeating myself, I've seen superb before, and it didn't look anything like this... :) But good luck anyway! :)

Thank you for giveaways Fiftykyu and the thing with Steamground is that it takes some time before a card payment verification is done.

Wish I'd known about that little gotcha... Somehow I figured either a purchase works, or it doesn't. :) Suddenly getting keys hours later was weird...

Actually, hmm... Now that I think about it, a similar thing happens when I buy otakumaker bundles... They get my paypal money immediately, and then hours later I get some keys. Oh well. :)

Good luck! :)

Thank you again! :-)

Otaku does indeed the same. One pays for a bundle, they check your payment and some time after the payment the keys land in your mail.

I also had a problem with slow payment processing, but recently it works instantly.
Thanks :)

I have no idea why it's so slow... Is it their fault, their payment processor "Oplata" or maybe the "Verified by Visa" nonsense? Maybe something else? Either way, it made me look back at "dailyindiegame" when I was hoping I'd be able to grab all the sweet Russian bargains instead... :(

There must be a lot of credit card fraud on these sites, since I can't imagine anyone wanting to inconvenience potential customers so much they just quit. :)

It would be like hmm, Amazon lets people buy things with one click, why don't we make our store ten times better than Amazon by requiring ten clicks to buy things...

Good luck! :)

It's funny, but isn't this exactly what people do with stolen credit cards?

I mean, they make some tiny purchases to be sure the card is good, then if it works they go buy something expensive? Maybe there's a computer somewhere that thinks my trying to buy a few cheap piles of Russian crap is suspicious, so they won't let me do it? Oh well...

Wonder if all this junk will disappear once Greenlight is kaput. I can't imagine the horde of former Greenlight "developers" paying $5000 for each game they put on Steam... :)

Good luck! :)

And we got an error at submit comment again... guess steamgifts doesn't want us typing too long. :/

I'll keep it short then: That first screenshot of this game just screams: "sexy" doesn't it. :p

I wonder if their artist is intentionally doing this, or if they just aren't any good... I mean, since the publisher obviously has no clue, why not have a bit of fun at their expense? :)

Just think of the fun you'll have if you win, though... Woohoo... All your friends will be jealous of your new game... :)

Good luck! :)

Let me take a look... That key was for FBI MANIA. No great loss, I'm sure. :)

On the other hand, since I have one or two extras, see if you're the first to grab this one... HBQIK-CZGJE-3C92(LXXXVIII)

There are a couple of games that I wanted, but they wouldn't accept any of my payment methods haha. Dungetris and Yet Another World look like cool games that I would play.

Oh, interesting! Buying games to play them, wish I could remember to do that... :( Somehow I can always find time to buy them, but once in my library I forget about them... :(

If I stumble upon any extra keys I'll let you know... :)

If I'm really paying attention when I buy something, or if I heard it's a good game, sometimes I remember to install them... :) Checking Steam, it looks like I'm going to play 221 of them, real soon now... Oh well... :)

Good luck! :)

It's boobies all the way down... :)

It's weird, after playing this game I tried to remember the umm, what was the previous game? Beach Bounce? Anyway, that game had the most ridiculous English I'd ever seen from a (presumably) native speaker, like they'd hired a hobo or random craigslist person... :)

But somehow, instead of merely looking like English, this game was actually in English. Maybe they got a high-school student this time? Things are looking up! :)

Good luck! :)

Wow, that first screenshot O.o.

I know lots of these VNs are shallow pandering, but that is just something else.

Too lazy to buy from SG directly so I have been trading with RU peeps. They mostly just want +1s, which years of buying bundles has given me plenty of fodder :p.

Stop making puzzles. I suck at them and can never solve them ;_;

I wonder if the artists for these games feel bad too... :) Or if it's just a job... :)

I'm too lazy to bother with trading, seemed like it would be easier to buy stuff from that steamground place directly... But they sure make it difficult... :)

Oh, I don't make puzzles, I'm too lazy for that as well... :)

Good luck! :)

Oh, hey, now that it's too late... :) For no particular reason, first put the giveaways in order, by checking the level or the Roman numerals in the description:

https://www.steamgifts.com/giveaway/sxu90/beauty-bounce
https://www.steamgifts.com/giveaway/sU2IM/devil-daggers
https://www.steamgifts.com/giveaway/Vxa1O/goblin-and-coins
https://www.steamgifts.com/giveaway/S08gK/negligee
https://www.steamgifts.com/giveaway/m0eBj/princess-maker-refine

Then look at the five (hmm...) crappy bundle key drops:

(97)9FKH-RFWKI-JJYF(97)
(98)DAL0-BKD39-FB3K(98)
(90)H3KW-JCGRI-GNET(90)
(87)MM8L-NI0EW-99Y6(87)
(100)5P9D-IQWYC-MWM4(100)

The numbers in parentheses are bot-protection so evil key redeeming bots didn't use the keys, and for no other reason at all... :) Oh, if you don't already know what those numbers are, http://www.asciitable.com/ should help... :)

But it was just hiding a giveaway of Bad Rats II: The Baddening so you didn't miss anything worthwhile... :)

I emailed Steamground support with a list of games I wanted and offered to make a direct Paypal payment including fees, they responded with a price ($4.80 for 75 games). They emailed me a list with keys within minutes of receiving the payment.

Oh, hey, that's a good idea, and less hassle than trying to buy 50 games over and over again... :)

Assuming it's not top secret, how did the price compare? :) Maybe five bucks is worth more in Russia, since I wouldn't expect that sort of customer service if I asked Humble Bundle to give me a quote on a pile of random games... :)

Good luck! :)

Ahh, just in case you did win, I did find something you might need, but I'll worry about that later... :)
