In the meantime, folks should check out the following free online courses: HarvardX's CS50x: Introduction to Computer Science (https://www.edx.org/course/harvardx/harvardx-cs50x-introduction-computer-1022) and Stanford's Computer Science 101 (https://www.coursera.org/course/cs101). Both offer free enrollment, and while the first is self-paced with an end date, the second is currently in self-study mode.
