wash plates i try to stay away from cooking especially if it uses sharp knifes with my ticks there is always a possibility of accidentally stabbing myself.
sharp objects and sometimes violent ticks are not a good combo.

Depends if there is diswasher availible and also it depends on what dish is required :)

I like cooking more than cleaning up (actually I just hate cooking less). But since we have a dishwasher, washing the plates isn't really an issue anymore. So I'd go with filling the dishwasher, just because it takes far less time than cooking.

Oh, and I make sure nearly everything I buy is dishwasher proof.

Wash the dishes, of course.

Much rather cook than wash dishes if it's more than just me.. Don't mind washing my own dishes but washing other people's grosses me out.

I already wash the plates after my family eats and I do it far better than they do, just like they all cook far better than I do so washing plates it is.

Cook but mostly because if my GF cooks she likes to use every dish and pan we have.

I love cooking so i would choose that :) But I do think it’s quite relaxing to do the dishes while listening to a podcast or an audiobook – that said I do like that the new apartment has a dishwasher :)

Haha, tough one. More likely I would cook (at least I would be able to learn that), but as I am bad one in that, then washing is right one for me.

Dang this one is almost a no-brainer for me. Of course cooking! By cooking I assume it applies to the narrow sense, which is the actual process making the food edible, not the preparation the readies the cooking.

Prefer cooking myself and dislike the cleanup afterwards but honestly(@myself&everyone) it isn't that bad.

Adding a new layer of discussion. Going to cook for >50 people a few times in the next week (camp for kids).
Ok you have 2 hours to get everything ready. Lots of stuff to cut, multiple pots and pans to check and everything is hot and steamy.
On the other hand cleanup afterwards is lots of work (no dishwasher - expect slaves sometimes^^) but you have no time frame and it's quiet.
Cooking is still lots of fun but the choice is muuuch harder; but welp mostly the cooking person does both anyway

Hi again. Thanks for the giveaway. I definitely prefer cooking because I can get creative and try new dishes etc. Plus you get a (hopefully) tasty reward at the end. Washing is just a chore with no benefit other than having your dishes and ustenils clean again.

As for the question you asked, it depends:

I don't like to cook, but I don't mind helping with cutting/slicing/preparing whatever needs to be done.
The actual cooking though is something I really don't like because I have a low heat-tolerance and burn🔥 myself easily (for eating I normally even wait till it's lukewarm).^^
This on the other hand means I also hate washing dishes because of the hot water....

In the end what I like the most is to help prepare meals, set the table and dry everything off after someone else washed it.😁

I eat only takeaway straight out of the box. No cooking! No washing! 🍔🍕🍟😋
