Two of my favourite visual novels on Steam: The House in Fata Morgana and The Letter. (I definitely feel like The Letter is underrated, I feel like not many people know about it)

Also Ace Attorney, Danganronpa and Zero Escape but you might have already heard of those ones. (Oh and also AI: The Somnium Files)

I did play the last ones you mentioned and the anime was also a +. Might check out the Letter. Thank you for the recommendations.

🐺 May the werewolves protect you. 🐺
Amazing Music Video and its analysis

  1. Nekojishi - be warned: it might be NSFW, but without the official "adult pack" it's hardly more than kissing. It is a cute furry-gay themed dating NV with an interesting story about spirits.

  2. Red Strings Club - It's a cool cyberpunk story about bar-tending and AI ethics.

  3. The Wolf Among Us - yeah I count this as a glorified NV with little to no choices.

  4. Quantum Conscious - An androgen struggles with the question "To read or not to read minds." in a sci-fi universe of love seeking.

  5. Werewolf the Apocalypse: Heart of the Forest - less of a NV and more like a text adventure.

I had to take a re-take on the first one and thought what i saw was wrong. I was wrong.
Red string club is interesting but i couldnt get past the molding part, so might give it another try.
I still have wolf among us in my library just gathering dust.
The last two ill keep in mind. So thank you for the recommendations.

I liked Root Double a fair bit. It's far from flawless but by the end I was satisfied with it.
(Disclaimer: That's the only pure Visual Novel without any other gameplay which I've ever played. So I may be a bit biased. XD )

Anyhow, thank you very much for the giveaway. :)

Doki doki was the only visual novel I did stream and was a fun experience.
I have the higurashi collection but only issue was trying to remember all the other series to piece everything together at times.
will try out Eden, Cinders and Everlasting summer though.

-Muv Luv Alternative (but you MUST read the whole trilogy, the first 2 are one game/purchase). And go in as blind as you can.
-Wonderful Everyday (NOT for the faint of heart, and if you aren't willing to patch it and suffer its not worth it. Its... rough).
-Baldr Sky
-Higurashi When They Cry
-The Silver Case
-The 25th Ward
-Umeneko
-The House in Fata Morgana
-Zero Escape: The Nonary Games
-Raging Loop
-Beyond Eden
-Planetarian
-Narcissu
-Clannad
-Symphonic Rain
-Analogue: A Hate Story
-Togainu no Chi
-Sweet Pool
-DRAMAtical Murder
-Song of Saya

...I could go on but I should shut up, lol. And a lot of these have very dark themes. Reader discretion advised.

Alot of dark themes for the dark moods, I like. Have you ever tried katawa shoujo its dark but more a depressing due to all the girls backstories.

Also Clannad and its Phat price tag. Uguu

amnesia memories is pretty good, I don't play a lot of visual novels so I don't have a lot to offer but I enjoyed this one.

If you try it out let me know your thoughts on it. Oh also I completely forgot I recently started Werewolf: The Apocalypse — Heart of the Forest which is a visual novel not very far into it but might be something your interested in.

In contrast to others I didn't like "Higurashi When They Cry".

In addition to the others above:

  • Cinderella Phenomenon
  • Dies Irae ~Amantes amentes~
  • DoraKone
  • Everlasting Summer (becomes ever stranger upon the replays for full story)
  • Fallstreak (long kinetic novel, no choices)
  • Highway Blossoms
  • NEKOPARA

P.S. Happy cake day

The first one I own and is currently backlogged. The second one I have never heard of but the art style is soothing and calls to me. Thanks for the recommendations :)
