Was just wondering, as we gift STEAM games here, how much of the games you really play on STEAM?

With GOG gifting games.
With Epic giving away 2 games per week.
With ARC providing most of the games for FREE, with in-game purchases.
With Origin & Uplay gifting away 1 game per month (more or less).
With HB announcing that it would give more games on other platforms then STEAM.
With HB & Fanatical making more bundles with non-STEAM games.

How much of the games you really play on STEAM?

As for me, I rarely play on STEAM games at all.
Most of the clocked times I've been playing on Origin & Epic - some of the games that are "not available on STEAM".
Even though STEAM is a great platform & has best user-experience (then other platforms: GOG, Origin, ...), other platforms did provide so much better games - like Mass Effect 3 & Andromeda, for example.

What is your opinion about recent playing on other platforms?

I own a few games on GoG but those are mostly games I also have on Steam, besides that I do have 1 Blizzard game and besides that all my PC games are on Steam (besides a few old ones that have no launcher at all)

"STEAM is a great platform & has best user-experience"
"other platforms did provide so much better games"

"playing on other platforms" - I don't play on those platforms. I play on my PC. Those platforms are online sevices to distibute games. Convenient, but if they are offline, there is trouble. Fortunately ,I still have my CDs/DVDs with Rome:Total War and Civilizations.

They gift away, when it's occasion. Sometimes it rounds up to 10 games per year, so that's why I wrote 1 per month (even though it's not a rule). ;)

Well that's perfectly fine but if you don't use Steam and don't like playing game on it, then it's kind of weird to be entering giveaways for Steam games???

Well, I'm playing on steam only (from the launchers) as i own the games i like there. However i have games such as black desert that aren't in any specific launcher but their own client(I'm aware that there is a steam version of bdo but i don't have it there)

The real question to me would be "Do you even play games anymore"? Haha.
I kept stacking games up and I have nowhere near the time I need to play them.

I came here to say this exact thing. Between work and studies, I don't have that much spare time as I once had; now, when I can play, I use any platform, it only depends on where I own the game, and in the meantime I just keep stacking them.
Now, if the question were to be "Do yo even BUY games in Steam anymore?", I'd say no, because I have so many unplayed titles I want to try first, it would be a waste of money and (maybe) time.

I still play games on Steam and most likely will continue doing so. I mainly stick to that provider because I already got a huge library and had bad experiences with UPlay. I also got a GOG account but barely use it. I just got it to re-purchase "Nox" which I loved as a kid and wanted to play again.
Although most of my playing time is on PC I got to admit that my actual favourite gaming platform right now is the Nintendo Switch tho. It's just way more enjoyable to hang out somewhere and to get out the console or to spend the time on public transport playing something that is fun instead of looking into sleepy / bored faces. Also I can cut myself off from stupid stuff happening around me that way. Another big bonus of the Switch is that it's way easier to find time playing the games by being able to play anywhere and pause it any time.

Currently I still play more games on Steam, but I prefer buying from GOG. I have a lot of duplicates on both stores due to backing games on Kickstarter, etc., and GOG Connect. I'll still buy a game on Steam (or Steam key) if it's a short game that I'll only play once and it's cheaper than GOG.

The thing is, do we play games anymore??

Steam is my one and only platform so far, and with Origin integration, I can uninstall it and play Apex on steam which was the only reason for Origin anyway.

And what is this??
"With GOG gifting games." - that happens like ones a month if not 2 months
"With Epic giving away 2 games per week." - Every interesting game they offered, already has it on Steam. Plus I don't even have Epic account and not planning on making one nor using their store/launcher ever :)
"With ARC providing most of the games for FREE, with in-game purchases." - What is ARC???
"With Origin & Uplay gifting away 1 game per month (more or less)." - That stopped months ago.
"With HB announcing that it would give more games on other platforms then STEAM." - Can you link any source to that? Because I can't find any myself?
"With HB & Fanatical making more bundles with non-STEAM games." The last 9 bundles on both were Steam only, so I don't know what are you talking about??
"much better games - like Mass Effect Andromeda" I don't think these two can be put in one sentence.

Edit: Thanks for blacklisting me BTW, very mature of you. Just one minor thing, If you can't handle a simple answer like mine for whatever reason, don't ask questions in general. Anyway, have a blacklist you too and have a good day/night :)

Trust me, you don't want to win anything from him..
It'd take Jessica Alba sitting on my face and a lot of cocaine and alcohol to get me to consider entering one of his giveaways.

And then I'd be too busy to actually do it, anyway.

Didn't know there are people like him here on steam (((GIFTS))), I have even seen him giving -rep to people on steam trades because they didn't thank him on steam gifts.

Probably you couldn`t uninstall Origin. On Fallen Order page on Steam we can see "EA on-line activation and Origin client software installation and background use required.".They probably do it with Apex too.

In general, you wouldn't need the main Origin to play them. If I remember correctly, you will get a mini version Origin that would only play when you play EA game and close automatically when you close the game, could be wrong tho.

As for Apex, respawn confirmed that you wouldn't need origin at all to play it on steam

I don't play games that much in general. In recent months I played on my Oculus Go, Android tablet, Xbox One S and I'm 'playing' Kind Words now on the PC, and that's from a Humble Trove copy. I did play a few minutes of Injustice: Gods Among Us which was very cheap somewhere, but never went back to it.

I already own on Steam all the games GOG has given away.
I already owned all (but maybe one or two?) that Epic has given away. If I didn't own them, it's because I wasn't interested.
I already owned all the games HB has given away.
Most of my GOG account is populated by GOG Connect - aka games I already own on Steam.
I don't even have Origin installed anymore.
I only have UPlay installed because I bought the last two Assassin's Creed games on Steam.

I think it's pretty safe to say I play most of my games on Steam.
I'm not sure what results you expected on a site pretty much devoted to Steam games.

I have Steam, Uplay, GoG, Epic, Origin and many Games. Most in Steam, but cause of the Freebies and if the Games are interesting enough for me, why not. ;-)

To the playing stuff, i would play with all, if i could. Just there is a sad Private Problems what we have here, so at Moment not a good PC and stuff, very old and slow.

So i cant play them at all, nothing working at all. So that is the only Problem i have here or else, would play them all to 100% or at least, try. ^^

Honestly, I dont care about any games if I have to install additional client in order to play them. I feel like with that tendention we will end up with distribution client per each game studio. Steam is the only reason which keeps me from using pirated single player games.

where should I play them? =P Steam, Kongregate for free games and little else, apart from some GBA/SNES/GB games that I often enjoy =P I don't even know that much about all the new platforms, Steam is more than enough for me

Much of what you said is either factually wrong or ended years ago. Like when was the last time EA gave a free game. We had subscriptions sure, but having limited time to finish the game, makes it less enjoyable.
What about the xbox launcher on pc? It looks promising,
But it was Andromeda being considered a great game that got me, forget the argument im out. :I

It used to be more like which games one liked to play but with the lame Epic exclusivity going on, results are a bit skewed if one wanted to play those games.

Sure I'm currently playing:
Odyssey, Anno and Far Cry games with Uplay
Burnout on Origin (some Sims, Need for Speed and Dragon Age titles are only on it atm)

Epic gives free games but I have already played the ones I'm interested in on Steam.
Same as above with GOG, I feel bad about not supporting GOG more but all the bundle deals are Steam keys.
Only ever opened Neverwinter on ARC.

... and everything else is on Steam, so yes, the bulk of games I play are on Steam except for the exclusive titles.

Origin:
A little over 1000 hrs total playtime in all 4 ME games.
Around the same time for BF series (but those are mostly my little brother time, I'm not good at PvP in general)
Could round the rest of the games/series to a 3rd 1k hrs (Fifa, NFS, DA, Mirror Edge, 3rd party games thanks to Origin Access Basic ...etc)
So that is around 3k hrs

Uplay:
AC series last 2 games has over 600 hrs together (owned on Steam) the earlier games (maybe 500-700 hrs total, only missing Syndicates and 2 chronicles games)
Splinter Cell Blacklist I was addicted to this game if I say at least 1k hrs it is no exaggeration I loved it so much I was so naive and things were still luxurious I bought again on Steam later on, also was addicted to Splinter Cell Conviction.. to bad old Uplay games don't have timers.
W_D both games around 300hrs total, GRW about 600 hrs
So that is around 3.5k hrs

Epic:
I will be waiting for them to implement achievements at least before I start playing those free games.

Steam:
It has way more variety and games to offer than the rest according to achievement tracking sites or SteamDB I have clocked over 16k hrs.

The games given free on Epic, Uplay, Origin..etc it is nice.. but all that have been given so far can't appeal to all gamers.. as in you may enjoy some of them but the rest you won't really like or enjoy to care to really play them.

I mean, most of my games are indeed off-PC, but as far as PC options go, definitely steam. Haven't been able to play as much as I'd love to since May, because life, but I don't want my backlog to keep waiting forever so hopefully I can start working on completing more games in the near future XD

Lately, I've been playing a lot of PS4, Switch and Battle.Net stuff, but that's because of exclusives. There's still a lot that I come back to Steam on the regular for and I still own most of the games I want to play on that platform.
