if that would happened i would probably buy it, because i'm rich and when i'll get the company back on it's feet i would delete games from your library whenever you're offline....but that's just me.

OT: I definetly would donate some money and even more than I would like I think. If they sell it to a company like EA or Ubi then i'm done with gaming and just become a... hmm wtf do real people do? :p

I'd go console and never look back, since almost everything on PC requires some kind of online DRM service that could once go bancrupt.

It won't affect us much.If Valve were to go bankrupt.They would do anything they can to not disappear like THQ.They will sell game franchises like Portal/Half Life/CS/Left for Dead.If that doesn't help they will sell their platform.Steam will never go down because it is so popular and anyone with a brain would want to be in charge of steam.
