Anyone know how this works exactly. I just got a popup saying "click here and when we are ready we will automatically upgrade your system" (reserve a copy). But I want a manual download, I want to save it to a DVD, I want a clean install (not upgrade), and then when stuff goes tits up I have a paddle. Is there a way to do this through a website/direct download instead?

I didn't understand you very best.
It's not available to download yet. You can reserve free copy, when it becomes available you can download it immediately or whenever you want.

You sign up for it
when avaialbe (27/07) it would download and ask you if you want to upgrade. you can always roll back

Microsoft say that the upgrade is free for a limited time.

MS said you can get/make an ISO of Win10, maybe they will offer it at release.

Why would you want a clean install? If half of the things they said about W10 are true, you will never need to make a clean installation of windows or formatting your pc again.

I don't want any settings or viruses migrating.
And it is guaranteed that over 90% of the things said are false.
