Game may come from poland

May I activate it? I won a game, and the person who is giving it away is polish, he sent me a key. Game I won is red orchestra os front 41-45,and since it is a key, it may come from some polish website. Thanks.

Edit: Yep, I am unable to activate it, it is region locked (received a message about me being unable to activate it in my region/country or something like that).

No, don't do this. The rules state that you're not allowed to give away region-locked games, so if he can't offer an unlocked replacement within the 7 days, you need to mark it as not received.

He should be reported. It's not allowed to give away region locked games. Also Red Orchestra: Ostfront 41-45 is on the exploited keys list.

ok, so what should I do? report him for giving away exploited key? I feel bad for doing it since he is legit and fair person according to his profile, but... rules are rules :/.

Faergor wrote that this key is from polish site (probably CD-Action) so I'm sure that it has region lock. But if
Faergor win game from group giveaway (gropu Poland) that he couldn't recive it as not recived coz this giveaways are for people from Poland!

yep, it was, well, I do not enter giveaways that state that game is region locked, in this giveaway it was not stated at all, so therefore it could be activated by anyone. So it is not my fault ;). Btw, I checked his profile before entering his giveaway as well, and he has a good rep, I am pretty sure he is fair and legit person, and he trades non region locked games as well (he traded with ppl with all over the world, not just poland), so he could at least state that key that is being given away is region locked.

Maybe he did not do it by purpose - maybe he did not know it was region blocked. I think you should spare the guy if he got good rep and ask for a reroll. Sorry for you tho.

Yeah, I am not planning to regift it nor report him. I agree with you, he probably did not do it on purpose, or he simply forgot to state that the game is region locked. I am trying to contact him so he could do a reroll :D, hope he adds me as a friend :D.

Why don't you just try to activate it? If it doesn't work ask him for another copy or mark it as not received.

If the key is not working, contact the gifter.

If he's unable to replace it, then mark it as not received.

How can one check if his game/key is region locked? I myself am from Poland and would hate to be in situation like this, thinking I'm giving away a legit key and being unable to deliver in the end ><

Only way to check it is by activating the game. If it was stated in giveaway that game is region locked, I would not enter. Simple :). That is how it is being done everywhere on SG.

I am not going to regift it, it is against the rules. I wont report him either, I would feel bad, he is surely legit and fair by looking at his profile. But he could at least state that game is region locked. I will ask him to do a reroll :D.

You can't do that.

Rule says you activate EVERYTHING you win. Even (especially) if you didn't want that, it must stay in your library for eternity.

You can't let him reroll it, keys don't get rerolled and it's also forbidden to make a giveaway for a region locked key. Tell him he should give you a working key or just mark it as not received and report him.

I may not be up to date on the rules, but I think it's allowed as long as you tell others of the restriction in your description (as if anyone would read it).

I've seen giveaways that clearly state the key is region-locked in the description being deleted, so I'm pretty sure they're forbidden full-stop.

They are still forbidden ("Do not submit CD-keys that require VPN activation or methods to bypass regional restrictions."). I think the only way to make giveaways for region locked keys are private/group giveaways where you can control who enters it (but I'm not sure if that's allowed).

And nobody reads giveaway descriptions.
