I'm looking for games you can play while doing other things - such as chatting / reading / learning things you have to learn

Any games especially good for that?

To clarify - I mean things like turn based games where you can switch back and forth between turns.
Or things that don't require alot of focus / skill / brain power to operate.

Some games as suggested by you guys, so far:

  • F.T.L
  • Terraria
  • Binding of Isaac
  • Hero Academy
  • Dungeons of Dreadmore

I played black ops multiplayer while listening to a a video about the history of, I think it was hard drives or something like that. XD

But that wouldn't quite work with what you are looking for.

Sorry, but I have to say that...
Silliest request ever. :P
If you play games, you need to concentrate on gaming. If you do anything else, you need to concentrate on whatever you're doing. Unless it's eating/drinking, of course.
I suppose it's possible to do other things while gaming, but you'll probably mess up both in your game and on whatever else you're doing. ;)

But... I'm not gonna leave just like that, so...

1 - Minecraft. While lots of people are haters of Minecraft, it's fun to create giant monuments, or even cities in creative mod.
2 - Minesweeper. Okay, maybe a little cliché, but it's still really easy to play.
3 - Bubble Blaster. Or at least, I think that's the name. Google that, and you'll get an easy, laid back color matching game. No timer or anything, so you can take your time and pause anytime you want.

Transformice. I sometimes go AFK and do other stuff for a few maps. Doesn't matter at all unless your shaman turn is coming soon.

I used to play Isaac while listening to a weekly podcast. Great idea.
And Scrolls, the card game from Mojang, is also great for doing something else during your opponent's turn.

I play some of the older final fantasy games like that. I'm not sure if you only wanted PC suggestions, but I'm currently playing FFIII on my DS.

Dungeon Defenders, tower defense game that you can leave it defend by itself if you build stuff smart... there's also a mode that forbids you from doing anything in wave mode, but rewards are alot crappier.

"/ reading / learning things you have to learn" you won't be picking up half as much as if you did these solo without any games. Games should be a hobby, don't get addicted.
