Steam support

So, I bought CS:GO preorder from Steam couple hours before it was officially released. But turns out the game description(gift description in my inventory) is different with other peoples. So I sent a ticket to Steam support and ask if my CS:GO is preorder version or not(preorder version came with TF2 bonus).

I sent the ticket at 2 Sept.

I received a reply from support at 11 Sept(9 days later), this is the respond I got.

Took more than a week to respond my question and the answer I got is this? I mean really? But after a few respond, turns out that my CS:GO is the same with preorder version even though the game description is different.

Steam Forum

I have a Steam account that got permaban because I'm an idiot, I never read the rules before(I mean how many of you did read before posting?), so there is this thread called "Final Fantasy VII coming to Steam" on General Discussion, peoples on that thread whine about how shitty securom DRM that FF VII had when it got released exclusive on Square Enix store. So, as a joke I replied the comment with "Sailing to the bay it is".

I got permaban the next day, I sent a ticket the next day to support asking if they can unban my account because it was a joke, because I didn't post any link and hell, I didn't even think the cracked version of FF VII exists on piratebay at that time because the game was just released when that post were made. They won't unban my account, I understand because it was my own fault for being an idiot.

So, I create a new account on Steam Forum. A week or two after that, a site named famitsu or something give a free Hitman Sniper Challenge key. There are a lot of traders on Steam trading trying to ripoff peoples with free keys they got, so I made a thread letting peoples know that they can get Hitman keys on famitsu site, similar to this sticky thread on steamtrades.com.

I'm surprised because I got permaban the next day for "Spammed ads", keep in mind that I only made one post and I'm not the only one that letting peoples know that they can get the games for free, there is even a thread on Steam Forum that let peoples know a site that currently give away free things.
http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2646885

I got upset and sent a ticket to support asking for explanation why did my account got banned for "Spamming ads", because I made exactly one post and I'm not the only peoples that let others know. This is the reply I got.

After I give them a link above("Giveaway Notice" link on Steam Forum) and sent them a proof that I'm not the only one doing that. They didn't explain anything and this is the reply I got.
http://i.imgur.com/sGbpH.png

What I learned is they didn't want to explain anything because they realize my first account got permaban, so I'm not allowed to use Steam Forum anymore.

I'm fine if I'm not allowed to use Steam Forum anymore, but are mods playing favorite? Because I'm the only one who got banned for sharing giveaway information to others and keep in mind that they didn't know that my main account got banned until I sent a ticket when my 2nd account got banned, which means that my 2nd account got banned not because my 1st account are banned. Last reply I got is :
http://i.imgur.com/5pWzo.png

Note : second case is probably my own fault in the first place because I never read the rules and I didn't know I'm not allowed to use Steam Forum anymore after my first account got banned, but still I'm asking myself are mods playing favorite on ban because they didn't even know my 1st account when my 2nd account got banned.
I'm also sure that I got reported by a lot of peoples after I made a thread about how to get free keys from famitsu because I ruined their trade by letting others know.

P.S : Sorry for bad english

Well hopefully you learned something. They may have overreacted, but maybe you just caught them in a bad mood. You really have to be careful what you say/do around any forum.

Life goes on, Johan.

He's created two, not one, TWO steam accounts that have BOTH been banned :P I don't think Steam are in the habit of picking one user and bullying him/her lol.

As for the support, their answer did indeed leave a lot to be desired. Sure, they're probably swamped by peopler ; that said, when dealing with support it's often a good idea to be a bit more verbose, e.g. tell them you just bought the game on the Steam store, give them the transaction ID etc. They take you more serious when they can see you're a paying customer.

As for the Forum ban - are you kidding ?
Advocating piracy is never a good idea on an official forum, no matter if it's a joke or not.
And your second ban is not because you warned people that they can get a key from Famitsu, but because you linked to it. Linking to an exploited/exploitable key website from the official Steam forum doesn't seem like a terribly good idea...
That said, a _perma_ban is pretty harsh :/

Peoples share/link giveaway info all the time on Steam Forum and never had any ban issues.

I might be wrong as I'm too lazy to check it, but.... I think that SNiper DLC they were giving away for free is a bonus You get on Steam for preordering a game.
So it looks like OP created "competition" for Steam advertising another source of the same thing but for "free".

Just my thought tho, not sure if it's true.

Nah it is not, because there are a lot of giveaway notice like Hacker Duality, SupCom Gold, etc on the forum while Steam store itself had it on sale.

When i read topics like these i feel like i'm using a different version of Steam. My every support ticket gets answered in 2-3 days, so far everything i requested was done on their part (removing games from my acc, refunding etc). I never had any bad experience with Steam support but i heard quite a few horror stories from others

I would share my Steam support experience (a mixture of good and bad...) but don't want to get banned. :)
(For me if my ticket even gets looked at within 2 weeks I feel lucky.)

This is why I stick to the game specific forums (the game specific forums that seem to be in the process to re-created on the game hub q_q)

Well people had problems with that too so the forums were a good place to start from the beggining. When you could preorder the game, people told me it looked like the beta.

What has been up for a fucking fortnight now. This is why I didn't bother asking cg to give us one of those, because people would be too fucking stupid to understand it anyway and bitch about long support times.

The only consolation is that their forums are useless but it casts their support in terrible light. Origin has better support, unfortunately.

Heh, the forum mods are retarded. My first experience with one was asking about Steam support (something about average waiting time since it was my first ticket but pretty urgent or something, but I didn't give any details). Luckily, I think a user got in to answer my question before a moron mod barged in and closed it screaming about how this isn't the place to request support and do not ask for help here. My later experiences with SPUF moderators have led me to assume their ranks are about 90% full of morons.

What's really stupid is that if you post about piracy they just ban you and leave the post there for everyone to see. Makes no sense to me what they schieve with that.

The worst part of the steam forums is that if you have committed 1 minor offence unknowingly, it counts to your cred rating and you cant reverse a demerit.
