From what I'm seeing, the giveaways with games from humble monthly are considered as full price games here (contrary to the games from normal bundles). What's the reasoning behind this? I'm noob here so if I missed earlier discussion or explanation for this, then I'd be grateful for a link. Thank you.

short answer: it hasn't been a 95% discount ... though this month that may change since it looks like with just 3 games retail value is already over $150

Ah, I see. Does it mean that games from normal bundles are being considered by their discount ratio too? For example, I can see that Saint Row IV GOTY from current bundle is still "full priced" as for now.

The bundle list doesn't get updated automatically so there is always a delay. However, my guess is based on the pricing $15 cost for $194 retail that games not previously on the bundle list won't get added.

Some humble bundle monthly games have also been previously bundled (like SimplePlanes last month) so there is no guarantees anywhere.

I re-subscribed a few months ago to the Monthly. Since then I have either wanted the early unlock or been able to sell it in advance, so it's been worth it to me. At the same time, I should unsubscribe because I already have so many games that need to get played :)

Sounds reasonable. Except this "bundle" name is quite unfortunate, as it's the discount size what's really counts.
BTW, if I give the game away, and only later it will become "bundled" - are my contributor points safe, or are they going to be retroactively decreased?

from FAQ:

Giveaways for bundle games created after the bundle date will always receive 15% of their value. For example, if you gift 2 copies of a $20 bundle game, you would receive $6 (3 + 3) in value towards your level. Keep in mind that changes to the list of bundle games will apply retroactively, so if a bundle begins today, attempting to gift the game before it's added to the list will offer no advantage. Games may also be added to the bundle list if they're available for free during a promotion, or if they're highly discounted in a sale.

If you make giveaway before bundle begins your points are safe.

A good rule of thumb is that if you see something that seems really amazingly cheap - then sooner or later support will notice and you will end up with bundle CV...

The 'bundle' name is probably unfortunate at this stage. But there have been some pretty expensive 'bundles' that weren't actually great value and there have been plenty of games that have been in 96%+ sales that have never actually been in a bundle. It seems to be about trying to keep it fair rather than the dictionary definition.

The term actually got changed with the new update

Before: Bundle Games: 15% contributor value when they were given away after a set date.
Now: Reduced Value Games: 15% contributor value when they are given away after a set date.

But I do see the list is still called Bundle Games

maybe my english is not good enough to understand the subtle difference between the 2 sentences... what does it mean to change the verb "were" with "are"? and what's the difference between Bundle Games and Reduced Value Games?

It is harder to mix them up, especially since "bundle" can mean at least three different things related to video games:

  1. Highly-discounted packages put up by sites like Humble Bundle, IndieGala, Bundle Stars, Groupees, and so on.
  2. Games packaged together with certain items, be it a magazine, cereal box, another game, and so on.
  3. Steam's bundle packages, which are dynamically priced packages that can factor in which games you own from them (and which cannot be given away here because of this dynamic nature).

3 games? I know about NBA2K17 and Pillars of Eternity. Has another game been announced? Not disputing what you said, strictly for my own information. Thanks
