☼ ☀ Summer Games Done Quick ☀☼

Quick like a bundle! Games Done Quick is a charity video game marathon featuring high-level play by speedrunners -- gamers who play games as fast as possible! These talented individuals run events twice a year and take donations that are sent directly to charity. This summer, they’ll be streaming over 150 hours of non-stop gameplay live to benefit Doctors Without Borders!

100% goes to charity - All contributions to this bundle will support Doctors Without Borders

100% goes to charity. All of the games in this bundle were donated by the developers so that the proceeds can all go to support charity! Our featured charity, Doctors Without Borders -- or Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) -- is an international, independent medical humanitarian organization that delivers emergency aid to people affected by armed conflict, epidemics, natural and man-made disasters, and exclusion from health care in nearly 70 countries. If you'd like, you can also choose a second charity of your choice via the PayPal Giving Fund! For details on how this works, click here. (NOTE: Doctors Without Borders does not endorse, condone, or control the content of the games.)

  • Contribute any amount to support charity.

Donate a minimum of $15 for:

VVVVVV, Dustforce DX, Guacamelee! Gold Edition, Super Meat Boy, Escape Goat 2, Serious Sam Double D XXL, Serious Sam: The Random Encounter, and Freedom Planet.

The bundle also includes a coupon for 10% off one month of Humble Monthly for new subscribers!

Everything goes 100% to charity ever single time i buy anything on HB. If the minimum were less they could have gotten some more money this time too instead of 0.

100% everytime? the devs should get some money too though :p

I presume the average purchase made on HumbleBundle, NEVER clicks the dropdown and moves the sliders. I bet people that do that are only like 1% of all transactions. I have enough games, I just collect them for fun I suppose. If I am donating money to charity anyway, then I can justify getting more.

Most people doesn't really care about the charity side of HB, they just complaint about how bad the games are, kinda sad considering SG could also be considered a charity from gamers the to gamers.

There's no tiers... just $15 ... so technically yeah I guess you could say it has "one tier"

I know, all the games this time are like the game from free giveaways or the tier1 games before. :(

I don't think Escape Goat 2 has ever been in a tier 1, but that's the only one I want. No buy for me.

I can't check atm, what's in the box above the games? And I'm assuming these're single tier right?

the box is like some broadcast thing by Twitch. It's called "SGDQ 2016 Benefiting Doctors Without Borders"

Only one tier

Thank you! (I was worried it might have had more games there since it said "Pay $15 (€13.47) or more to also unlock!" also in relation to what? o_o

$15 for those games?!? Are they out of their mind?

$15.0 for those games?!?

I respect that this is for charity, but that's rather rich for me.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Seeing as it's for charity the price isn't all that unreasonable, but I think I'll be making my possible donations straight to the source all the same.
And to the people horrified by the price, the point of charity isn't to get you a good deal.

In this case, your approach to just donating directly without Humble as the middleperson, is much better.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

100% goes to charity [you can't change that], and you can direct it to your charity of choice instead.
While the bundle is a bit ridiculous, I'm not sure what loss you take having Humble as a middle-person.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

If you can change the charity, then maybe that's not so bad.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Well, if you donate during the stream you've got the chance to influence the content via stretch goals, raffles and comments on your donation. Not a big difference, but it's something.

15$ for REPEATS? Humble, Y U SERIOUS?

'Special' bundles like the Games Done Quick and the Yogscast ones have never really been about the games for the 'buyers' but rather about charity and the fact that 100% of proceeds go to it automatically. Kinda thought all the bundle aficionados would know this from that history but I guess not?

no, i just don't like getting told i'm a bad person because i don't want to spend $15 in games, no matter if it's charity or not.

Didn't see anyone say that. Noone's forcing you to buy the bundle, but expecting amazing games for a bargain price just to get a donation out of you is the other thing. Don't donate, don't complain.

Don't donate, don't complain.

Your initial comment is a complaint ...
Seriously, ease up off people and relax your sphincter. Charity is voluntary and these are open forums.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

I don't know why people think I say that a donation is obligatory in any way. I'm just bothered that people are complaining for getting something for free for a donation. This bundle isn't about the games, it's about the charity. Games are just the added bonus.
And when this forum's open I should be able to voice my frustration as well as everyone else, right?

It's proably to get a few more donations in. Even when donating directly you can qualify for raffle prizes. It's just a method of giving back and advertising, that's all.
I guess that the Twitch Stream is linked so you can donate directly and less than 15$ as well.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

because people need a motivation to donate. that's why there's events like AGDQ, and bundles like this. they get more money that way. and i don't see how that's a bad thing in any way.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

You do way more by donating one of your days as a volunteer (heck, even a couple hours) than donating to some organization.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

At the last event Games Done Quick raised over 1.2 Million dollars.
Also, while I agree on your notion, I doubt you'll be able to volunteer for a few hours in the middle east, so Doctors Without Border relies on donations.
