This thought occurred to me a week or so ago so I whitelisted the domain there and then. Bumpity so more people see.

This, I won't block ads on a website unless they're really obtrusive. I figure if I do visit the site they deserve something out of it. And that way I can continue to visit since they're hopefully making enough money to keep running.

some ads pay by impressions - how many people view them regardless of whether or not they actually click on them,

Because doing that would somehow make the site "shadier" I don't like either gameminer nor playblink. I do not really trust them. But ere everything is more transparent.

I usually disable it on sites I feel deserve it, and It never even crossed my mind to do it here. So thanks for the reminder :D

I am not going to click it anyway, why whitelist?

Because they still get paid for the impressions. What's it to you to allow one banner to show at the bottom of the page if you're not clicking anyway. Except being a jerk?

Adblock? What's that? lol.
I don't use adblock, but I have a virus detector that blocks harmful ads....
So, this doesn't affect me.

It blocks harmful ads, not every ad. I see every ad on SG, so my adblock isn't going on here.

...No. I like the site but I wouldn't click the ad's anyway (would probably read the ads and google search it / go to the store directly rather than click the ad) so that I know where I should be going on the browser, if that makes sense.
TL;DR: It's my choice, leaving the ads hidden.

Some ads pay by impressions, not clicks. Just leaving them on the page gets steamgifts revenue.

Disabled it, no problem with the ads on this site (at least it's not filled with them or stuff that opens popups)

As we all know, the site has had some trouble lately. I saw that cg said in the chat room that it's just simply not able to keep up with the load on the current servers. The next step up is about 2.5 times more expensive than the current plan.
I'm sure a lot of us just install ad-blockers and never think about them... but if it's a site you love like steamgifts (and steamtrades, steamgamesales), please whitelist in your ad-blockers (I had to do it in AdBlock, Ghostery, and Disconnect).
It only shows one ad, at the very bottom of the screen. I don't even see it most of the time because you have to scroll all the way down for it.
Let's give more than just games, let's give our ad revenue too!
