ps3 games are a rental because you need the Psn+ to actually play them, without your psn+ active the game is not accessible at all while on xbox if you get the game, you'll own it forever and no need for gold to play it. That's why :3 On the other hand psn gives you waaaay better games :3

Because that's exactly what it is. It's just like Netflix with video games. You don't own the games, in order for you to keep/play them you have to have a PS+ subscription, if it runs out you lose it. It doesn't matter if it's an AAA title or not.

At least with free games with gold you own the game even after your gold subscription has expired.
