I would say Winter is coming. But I never watched Game of Thrones. So I have no idea what it means.
Other than that, you can technically avoid winter if you just switch the half of the earth you are living on in regular intervals. Can also opt for the opposite, ever winter and eternal darkness. Was at North Cap in Norway and there was darkness at 2 pm.

Stay close enough to the equator and many places are basically summer year round.
These places are often referred to as having a "Mediterranean climate."
