I wanted some more ideas of where to get Steam Keys for giveaways

I already know about:
Fanatical
Humble Bunlde
Indie gala
Green man gaming

and of course I use that Twitch Site - but I wondered if there is anywhere else legit to buy or earn Steam keys

I often use Gamesplanet, has often some nice deals. Sometimes GamersGate and Gamebillet.
And for bundles mainly HB and Fanatical. Rarely use IG or GMG.

What I really like about this site, you don't have to worry much about region-locks. Most of their keys work worldwide.

Indeed, I often get some promo codes from a magazine to which I have subscribed, and most of their keys are WW, that helps a lot.

GamesPlanet
WinGameStore
GameBillet

These regularly add a bit of extra to the discount, so at least for someone from the EU they tend to be the cheapest option.

Then there's also
GamersGate (which used to be owned by Paradox until Valve got upset about that and forced them to spin it off into its own company)
2game
eTail.market
JoyBuggy
Voidu
DLGamer
AllYouPlay

Though generally I tend to just use isthereanydeal.com to see where I can find the cheapest (official) sellers of any given game

Fanatical is the only page I use for keys.
The rest of the games I bought, I purchased them on Steam.

Since Steam introduced automatic refunds that actually work, I rarely buy a key from a key shop. I would rather pay a bit more with the option of getting 100% of my money back than pay less and be stuck with a game I played for only 50 minutes.

That makes sense. Good tip.

Green Man Gaming has been growing on me. Bought the odd bundle from them back in the day. When they stopped doing those, I stopped shopping there, but I decided to check it out again a few years ago, and was surprised to see some good discounts on newer games. It's also way better than Fanatical & HB when it comes to getting keys for giveaways, since you can easily & quickly view region-lock information.

if you don't know... make sure you are logged into your account when browsing... oftentimes they have additional discount so games tagged with XP. I got Dave the Diver way cheaper at GMG than anywhere else thanks to the additional XP discount.

Steam Store, because CrossCode, RIVE and Rabi-Ribi aren't available anywhere else in Steam-redeemable forms for giveaways. :P

(And occasionally Fanatical or Green Man Gaming for a copy of DOOM or a bundle or something... Also usually check GamersGate but their regional pricing usually sucks compared to the other two... And Humble Bundle... exists.)

Exclusively Fanatical and HB. Those two work fine and have good deals, so no point in fucking around with other sites.

More than exclusive stores I rather take a look once in a while at these 3 websites:

  • SteamDB tracks Steam game prices and sales history. You can see historical lows to target games that might be good for giveaways.
  • IsThereAnyDeal is another price tracker that also shows deals from authorized retailers like Fanatical or Humble Bundle you might have missed.
  • GG Deals is similar, allowing you to track wishlist games and see price drops across various stores.

Hmm, odd not seeing Kinguin here on the list. I've had positive experience with them so far

that's a gray market site(aka unauthorized third party resellers), only official sellers are on the list.
while fairly safe for previously bundled games, its something you should avoid for unbundled stuff.

I use them for Ubisoft and EA games, thus far I haven't had a single issue. But I'd see how many others might do.

Addition, since people will wonder about it: limited to CIS region.

I have given away a bunch of keys to my friends from overseas in the past, so it's not all restricted. Buuuut most of the major one are probably restricted, bleh

Yes, depends on the region restrictions of each game's packages. You can check SteamDB beforehand, but if you're unlucky, it's a restricted package SteamDB doesn't know yet (own experience).
And it became difficult to use their payment methods since the war.

I wouldn't bother. Someone will say you are gaming the system and remove all the cv from your giveaways. Unless you just don't care about the cv and want to just give away a lot of keys.

? why would you think they would claim I am gaming the system I don't understand

Permalink

It's what they always turn to when people give away a lot of cheap keys. Don't believe me? Give out 10 copies of the same game and wait a few weeks and see what happens.

maybe your Right not that I really care about CV and a lot of my giveaways are already marked at 0

If CV isn't important there are many sites that sell keys for as low as 25 cents, ENEBA is a site I have used and didn't have any issues

I think it's a little different in the OP's case, since they have not entered a single GA on this account. When I first started, I gave away random stuff I had no real use for, extra copies with no trade value, and DLC I didn't have the game for, and didn't expect to get.

Most were already 0CV, so I was just giving them away because the alternative was throwing them away. The result was that one game that I was the only one giving away recently got put down to 0CV, and got multiple BLs. I didn't see people specifically complaining, but it is clear that some people don't like certain types of games being given away.

In the OP's case, they only give stuff away. I won't speak to why, but it's obviously not about getting games for themselves, so I'm going to assume complete altruism? They just like giving stuff away. In which case, BLs, people being mad, or claiming that they're gaming the system, mean absolutely nothing.

As for the topic, sites not mentioned so far that I use include Keyjoker, OPQuests, Givee/SU and KeyHub. The Barter site often lists freebies for tasks, as do various Reddit subs.

I'm not really looking to gain anything either but it takes some of the joy out of it when the rug is pulled out from under you. And as you pointed out certain groups and persons do not care for 0 cv items being given in their area which I guess points back to this "gaming the system" garbage. All I know is even after what all was done to me I've still given out way more than I've received so those certain somebodies can stick that game in their system and smoke it. Not meaning to come off wrong at you but I certainly am not happy about it. Sufficed to say I learned my lesson and give sparingly and thoroughly check before I do.

I giveaway everything from 1p games worth 0 to top end stuff - when I have them of course and if people have a problem with that they can black list me and in the end only hurt themselves since as mentioned I haven't entered any giveaways

well I do Giveaways mainly because I don't really play Steam games very much and would rather make giveaways than activate many games I would maybe never use

That's crazy logic here. Why buy them then in the first place?

Mostly Fanatical these days since HB turned lame imo.

I used to use IndieGala a lot when it was new, but lately, it's been nothing but cheap porn games and other stuff I'll never care about.

I used to use GMG a lot, but lately, it's been failing me, so I've been using GMG less and less. One thing I used to like about GMG is their keys weren't region-locked.

Nowadays, I mostly rely on Fanatical and Humble since they're more reliable. However, I also like GOG and am wondering why we can't specify non-Steam game keys on here. Think about it, why isn't there a metagifts or a goggifts? I know it's rarer, but why not try to support as many platforms as possible? Oh well, I can give those keys away directly on my social platforms instead.
