Should "bump" posts be replies to the OP or to some random comment in the thread?
Maybe reserve the first comment for bumps, then anyone who would like to simply bump could reply to the last bump, so everybody gets only one notification

Like most, I appreciate it when people bump my threads. It helps others notice the thread, and as a result there are more people commenting (other than the bumps) and more people entering
giveaways. With that said, seeing many generic "bump" posts in the message notification list is less pleasant. A simple (and probably unoriginal) solution is to bump-reply one of the comments instead of the OP. Is this a good idea?Comment has been collapsed.
