The Telltale games and the TV series are pretty separate, other than some nods to/cameos from the latter in the first Telltale game. Like with other Telltale games, the TV shows don't ever end up referencing the games.
However, the styles are also rather different (so don't go into it expecting more of the same).
Put in simple terms..
Imagine if they took 400 Days, stripped out Shel, Vince, and Russel (or played them to solely to the least favorable dialogue options) but kept every other primary and secondary character from that DLC and added in a few "badass" characters to appeal to viewers, and turned the result into a TV series, and you've got a feel for the kind of flavor the TV show plays out to. If that sounds enjoyable, then go for it. On the other hand, I'd personally recommend Z Nation as a better example of the zombie genre, assuming you don't mind excessive focus on the campy elements of the genre.

I have never played Telltale games before, so the fact that the games they made are in fact alternate retellings of the original works is news to me. It's nice to see them actually trying to make a new story rather than copying the initial storyline sloppily.
While I do know that its TV series is in a complete decline since around Season 3, I still would like to watch the first few seasons, just to see what it is all about. I'll keep Z Nation in mind though. Thanks for the recommendation!

Been a while since I last created any GAs on SteamGifts, life has been quite busy. So no surprise that my level has dropped without me noticing. My womb independence day just passed a couple of days ago, what better excuse there is to make some GAs correct?

On an unrelated note, will watching the TV series of The Walking Dead spoil its Telltale counterparts?
