I had to stop playing MMOs beacouse they are addicting, they waste your time so much and when you know you spent a lot of time (2000+ hrs) for nothing that a virtual game that nobody in the world cares you feel like you wasted just time. (fake sad poetic mod : off)

If you're still playing it, maybe you would be interested in an addon: https://www.steamgifts.com/giveaway/QstvI/the-lord-of-the-rings-online-steely-dawn-starter-pack ?

I play them from time to time, mostly LotRO. But I feel that as a genre they are a thing of the past, at least the "traditional" MMOs.

Not really because the most MMORPGs are generic MMORPGs with Tab-Targeting. I'm still waiting for a great action MMORPG without targeting, without generic quests and without a generic story. I'd say the best MMORPGS are Final Fantasy XIV Online, Path of Exile and Skyforge right now, atleast those three games are atleast somewhat special. There's also Wildstar, but unfortunately it's dying.

WoW, Rift, Neverwinter - for now. I have a couple others to play too, but I don't really have enough time...

FFXIV - been playing and playing way too much for almost 3 years now. I've played others in the past but ultimately there aren't a ton that I'd touch right now other than it - I don't really trust the state of WoW right now even with the upcoming expac given well, a lot of factors. I played TERA for FAR too long back when it was p2p and then for a a couple years into f2p and am sad to see the decline but it happens. It's listed as positive but mostly from people who haven't played all that much. Current content is rehashed from their old stuff which makes me quite sad....it had a lot of promise once upon a time. I still have great memories from it and ran a guild but I don't know how long people stick around in the game now days.
Touching DFO once more which isn't quite standard mmo but hey, it's fun. There are a few I see coming out in 2017+ that look interesting but I think I'm going to stick with FF14 for the time being and long run. Frequent updates, confirmed expacs for a long while to come, healthy community, etc.

I did meet some people who are playing MMOs, but the past couple of years I never met anyone, playing them. Is this genre still relevant? If you are playing them, which ones do you like the most?
