I remember someone saying on SG forum that Witcher 2 and few (two or three) other titles won't work.

Can't speak for all games, but the three I've been gifted so far by a Russian acquaintance (Alice: Madness Returns, Batman: Arkham Asylum, and Deus EX: HR) seem to work perfectly fine.

Yes they do.
There are quite some that can't be played when gifted from certain countries to certain countries, such as Max Payne 3 for example.

All you need to check is the 5 number code when you put your mouse over the ''add to cart''.
Example here
Russia store
Poland store

Do you know how to check if I will be able to activate it if the game isn't on sale in my country? I'm in Russia, and succesfully traded Civ5 goty wich isn't available on Russian steam. But with that game I alredy knew it would work (a friend had alredy done the same). Now, there are some games I would like to trade but I'm not sure if I'll be able to use them.

Usually it should work, but the best way is either Steam support or google.

Hey can i ask 1 question? My other topic got closed, so maybe someone here knows the answer. I was trying to use key in steam, but it got canceled because i can't activate it in my country. Does the key is still usable? If yes i will make giveaway, for those who live in US.

You would need to ask Steam support and pray you don't get an idiot tech.

I asked, but only thing they said, is that i have to ask refund from the place i bought it :(

K will try that too. If key will be still usable, i will make giveaway :)
Edit: Contacted them now I have to wait. I hope the key is still usable, because I would like to at least share this awesome game with you :)

There's a few games right now that won't allow you to play them outside of russian IP range. To check if the game is alright you need to check Steam CDR contents for "onlyallowrunin" key on subID you're interested in. You can view CDR contents with Phoenix's plugin.
Right now the only games hardlocked to russia (on ru subIDs) are witcher2, skyrim, ridgeracerunbounded and confrontation. There may be more but I don't know of any.
