I recently noticed that I have created 99 giveaways on this site, so I wanted to do something to celebrate 100+. Since Steam has a number of Mega Drive games available, I decided I'd purchase several of those, some of the earliest titles that I played when I was getting into games (only preceded by a Sega SG-1000 which doesn't have games available on Steam). While I'm unable to get Cyborg Justice, other titles like Sonic the Hedgehog, Shining Force, Columns and Streets of Rage are listed in the Steam store. Perfect for what I was planning.

Made me curious if other users here can find their first games on Steam.

And no giveaways in this topic. I don't get paid for a few more days, I'm just working out how much dosh I'd need for my plans.

Actually yes. Sonic CD, first Sonic game I've ever played. I didn't remember it well since I was really small then and I played it only once at my aunt's place. When I saw it on Steam I bought it immediately. And it was damn good decision.

But it doesn't have first games I've ever played - Super Mario Bros or Duck Hunt (I don't remember which one was first).

Nope, I doubt they will ever have Atari ST and NES games. I think the earliest game I played as a child that is on Steam would be Rayman 2, but you can't buy it directly.
Mega Drive games are cool, too bad I didn't know the console back in the day.

Age of Empires/Mythology, Cossacks II: Battle for Europe, Ratchet and Clank 2: Locked and Loaded (PS2). Best. Games. Ever.

Atari 2600 Centipede and Pitfall are my earliest gaming memories. Then onto the Acorn Electron for games like Chuckie Egg and Repton. They're not on Steam, I'd probably have to fast forward to my teens before I could get close to finding something.

First game? Some pinball on MS-DOS, "Поле Чудес" (famous russian game), etc.

First game on Windows PC? Pro Racer 2001 (odd racing game), "Gift" from Cryo Interactive or "Подарочек" - VERY odd game, hardest ive ever played, and Warrior Kings (lame strategy), Red Faction 1, NFS 5: Porche Unleashed (best one, imo). A bit later: Warcraft III, HOMM 3 Breath of Death and Max payne 1 after their release dates :D Looks like i got the golden age of PC games :D

First game on steam? Orange box 1 week after its release, Warhammer DoW-II.

No, my first gaming experience was with Lemmings and Jack Jazzrabbit.
Anyway I guess it would be really nice to have Lemmings in my steam library, I still play it sometimes!
